  1. He goes to Kamehameha school? Whoa. Wonder if he ever met this dude.

Do you think they teach super saiyan capabilities to their students?

I wonder what happens if this kid comes to Nebraska and we flash posters of Frieza during the game...

    what is everyone talking about.......

Huge nerds Irie ... huge. nerds. :tv kiddin fellas, but yeah, I have no idea what cartoons you're watching.

  2. Would Texas take him? Sure, no question. Are they pursuing him? I'm sure a little. Because guys will inevitably switch, I bet they don't just stop contacting him. They can always put the full pressure on at the end of January if Brown were to bolt, for instance. We did it with Tomerlin. I'd guess we're still talking with guys like Grimble, just in case, but not as much as maybe a Todd Peat. I'm sure Texas is doing the same.

On the other hand, since they've got that position filled and they usually fill their most of their class in the spring, I would imagine they're really recruiting for next year, continuing with the guys they have and looking to fill those last couple spots of need, not going after someone they probably won't get, and don't really need anymore.

Of course this is all my pure speculation and I could be way wrong. aaaaand probably am. :rant

  3. I do hate seeing the teams we play against grab 'big time' talent (They did get Josh Turner ya know), but since we won't be playing them after this year, whatever. Let's get Aaron and hope Green is better than Brown.

  4. Committed to Oregon State.

Good for him IMO, I've always been a fan of Mike Riley

oregon state... the hawaii dumping ground for those not talented enough to attend Oregon/Washington

Do you realize Oregon State has beat Washington 6 years in a row?

dont tell me that tell the recruits who always go there........... i'm just telling you where they always seem to want to committ regardless of how good they are or not.... OSU always seems like the back up plan....

Hey, you guys can shut up. Oregon State is a top flight program that's attracted plenty of big time talent in the past such as.... crickets... Simi Kuli. So... yeah. :sarcasm

and Suh thought about transferring there for a chance to become a third rounder. Woulda been sweet. Solid money in the third round, ya know. :LOLtartar

  5. The Yankees can't find talent. They only pay players that are past their prime a crap ton of money.

lol, this argument might be valid if it were still 5 years ago.

As of now, they're developing talent (Robinson Cano, Phil Hughes to mention a couple) and signing free agents just entering the peak of their careers (CC, AJ, Teixeira) which is a scary combination for the rest of the league, and it's working out well.

Not to mention Jorge, Jeter and Rivera ... three probable hall of famers

    and :backtotopic

  6. LOL... I just checked ESPN's On the Trail news updates thing for NU and they have his name listed as "Curtric Evans."

I believe that's his given name. I'm not so sure you should be commenting on the spelling of someone's name dudeguyY. :LOLtartar Just jokin with ya man!

  7. I dont know how they run practice but from what ive heard Bo's philosophy has always been that untill he sets the depth chart all #1 jobs are up for the taking . Whoever earns it gets it . So it seems realistic that hed get some reps to try and prove himself.

technically yes, but it's safe to say guys like Crick, Prince and Niles will start regardless of how others do in fall camp.

  8. Would the coaches ever tell him he would be down on the depth chart? I thought they always tell kids to come in and compete and that nothing's given. Would they tell him that maybe based on his weight, and maybe (pure speculation) that he has trouble adding weight?

  9. Mike Golic and his son I recognize that he was not a star in the NFL. He was a pro and his son is at ND just like his dad. All though his son did get picked up with the rest of the guys that got busted for underage drinking.

    :dunno

  10. Not that it matters but I wish rivals would get off their butts and rate this guy. Scout gives Santos 3 stars and ESPN rates him a very solid 79 (3 star).

FWIW Tyler Moore is only a 78 on ESPN's rating system. Everyone says how great Moore is, well ESPN thinks even higher of Santos. I'm cool with that.

  11. Who knows what teams are looking at him for. Fransisco Liriano was an outfielder prospect as well and turned into a pitcher. I'm sure GMs would give him a look in rookie ball or single-A, at least in practices, for throwing from the mound ... unless of course he were to tear it up as a fielder. :rant

We could lose Bubba four months after signing with us. Let's hope not! Thank God we have two great QBs in this class. :woo

  12. I can't imagine them only taking one scholarship lb this year. They took one juco last year, two recruits in 09, but one has left the team, the other will be a sophomore this year. That leaves us without any scholarship freshman or redshirt freshman this year. I think we need to restock a little bit, get them in the system, even if we are going to more of a two backer set. Will the Peso be as effective in the Big10, or will we go back to more of a three backer look?

  13. It's one thing to be 'friends' with someone you've actually met, and that may actually remember you. If not, it's just plain creepy. Let the coaches recruit. We all say they're doing such a great job of it right now, let's not do something stupid to screw it up. Did I mention creepy? Yes, creepy. Like the banana guy :corndance creepy

  14. Ward was quite the athlete, winning the Heisman and going pro in basketball. Haven't seen Sterup play, but I'm guessing he may not be on that level of talent. Not many guys are THAT good at both. Ward's the exception.

  15. I think you look at Seantrel Henderson who signed with USC late because he was waiting to see what would happen to the trojans. Either he was delivered a bill of lies or thought, it won't be that bad. Throw the bill of lies out now. Recruits know what will happen, rather than slanted speculation from coaches. Hopefully Jalen sees this and comes to the good side before his spot is taken.

  16. I'd like to think Rivals ratings are based on how good the Rivals staff members think the player is. They watch tape, go to camps (I'm guessing), they evaluate like coaches. Some programs may not offer a player because of academics or attitude, but he could have five star talent. So if the offer list isn't there does that mean he is only a 5.9 rather than a 6.1? In reality the offer list shouldn't have any bearing. It doesn't change the talent, just the perception of the talent.

  17. we're not doing so well with these rivals rankings

Rivals rankings don't mean anything when compared to their offer list.

I am aware of this, it's just interesting to look at. most of them just don't make sense to me..

His rivals offer list doesn't have a lot of top-tier teams on it. Some solid teams, but nothing flashy. I think his ranking goes pretty well with his rivals offer list. Of course we all know he's much better :koolaid2: :koolaid2: :koolaid2:

  18. Per ESPN:

"Three schools for sure I know will be there are Auburn, Arkansas, and Iowa. Those three schools are my top three, I may add some more to make it a top 5 or 7, I'm not sure. But I do know that I like each of these three schools and have a high interest," he said.

I'm at the point where I'm narrowing it down. I don't have a plan for my commitment. I will likely take those three visits and maybe those will be the only three. I could potentially commit on my first or second visit even, I just don't know. Right now with those visits I'm going to spend some time looking it all over."

As soon as Malazahn and Trooper Taylor are gone, Auburn will no longer be able to recruit like they do now. Arkansas is still riding the McFadden, Felix Jones wave for RB recruits. And Iowa.....is.....I dont even know :dunno

Iowa has just put Albert Young and Shaun Greene into the NFL. They always have a good O-line to run behind too. Of course they are still Iowa...

  19. Free rivals qoute:

Another prospect who emerged this spring is Tevin Mitchel of Mansfield (Texas) Legacy. Mitchel arrived at the TCU Nike Football Training Camp with four scholarship offers and very little exposure. He dominated the event and went on to impress visiting college coaches all spring. Now, Mitchel has close to 20 offers, including ones from Oklahoma, Notre Dame and Texas A&M. On the same day that he entered the top 250 with a No. 110 ranking, Mitchel committed to Nebraska.
