It does make you feel bad for Ben Miles.

I wonder if he'll be able to carve out any playing time as a RB or TE/H-Back.

If he is a good enough athlete they will find away to get him in the game. Maybe on offense or maybe on the defensive side of the ball

I agree. I love seeing Lamar win.  It hurts Missouri's 6A programs in the East side bc those 10 or 12 4-5star kids should be playing for the big 6A programs in the state instead of attending a 2A private school.  Buddy is a head coach in St. Louis and they hate these 2 private schools bc they are constantly recruiting their kids from them.

Saw a video for Breece squatting 455 for 6 reps. Pretty powerful base for a Jr. RB.

Wichita Northwest has a really good weight lifting program. They have several big time athletes come out of there every year! If we can pull either Hall or Hicks and establish that pipeline there, it would be absolutely huge going forward!

Interesting phrasing, what is it about a cheeseburger without an egg that makes it inedible? I can understand if you prefer your burger that way, I'm just confused by the idea of rejecting all other cheeseburgers.

I suppose you're right, my wording may have been a little off, but I think you know what I meant.

Gebbia to start.  Who knows who will finish the year as our QB.  If Martinez is close and doesnt RS I could see him pushing Gebbia and getting some play as conference season rolls around.

I hope its this, because if it is that means the our starter is continually having to work his butt of to get better or he will lose his spot! I think that will be one of the biggest things that we will notice with Frost as HC. His players will have to play with a sense of urgency at all times or they will find themselves picking splinters out of their ass as the next guy in line will be out on the field

I lean Conservative also.  Problem is, our side has failed miserably on the bolded part and continue (at an even more aggressive pace) to fight against it since Trump has been in office.

Political people can't say they are for a solution when they are adamantly against gun laws AND increasing spending on healthcare/mental health and family services.

Our goverment in general seems to have failed in a lot of ways. They seem to vote solely based on what their parties stereotype is (ultra conservative or ultra liberal) instead of actually taking time to research and do their due diligence and vote with common sense what their constituents actually want

You've probably heard the following Devil's Advocate viewpoints before, and I'm not trying to convince you to my perspective. Instead, I would simply request you reflect on them in comparison to some of your own opinions.

    1) In regards to violent gun deaths, we are an anomaly among other countries we deem ourselves equal to or better than. We are embarrassingly more violent than the U.K., Germany, prominent Asian countries, etc. Those whom we do match up well with include Thailand, Sri Lanka and the Phillippines. It's pretty poor company to be associated with.

    2) We deal with inanimate objects all the time rather than the 'sick person' who controls them. That's why we now have seatbelts and seatbelt laws. That's why we limit the amount of Sudafed you can buy. Yet, we don't have many people standing up and saying "the problem is people who want to make drugs, not the Sudafed!"

    3) It's far more difficult to accomplish tasks like becoming a citizen, getting a driver's license or a passport. Hell, it's significantly more difficult to buy a suppressor (an item that is not dangerous by itself) than it is to buy a gun.

Again, not trying to convince you or anyone to my line of thinking, but they're important to consider especially when we go so far to say that someone's opinions on this matter might be "scary." I think all of the things I mentioned here are far scarier than the idea of stiffer gun laws.

Why this was somewhat temporarily effective, I will argue all day that our Meth problem hasn't gotten much better. I am LEO and we deal with very little manufacturing anymore, but we still deal with distribution just as much as we used to. Meth gets funneled up out of Mexico at an alarming rate. I feel educating people on the dangers of drugs, and honestly stiffening the penalties on those pushing these terrible life ruining drugs are gong to be the best way to combat the problem.

Now to the subject of guns. I feel I lean more conservative and I agree that gun laws need to be looked at and modified/updated to the ways of our world today. But that doesn't mean banning semi auto rifles. I agree on increasing the background checks at gun shows and even at retailers. We also need to reform our government spending and look for and reallocate wasteful spending to things that truly help. I.E. Mental Health, and Family Services. In my humble opinion I truly feel that a lot of our problems is that we don't have the percentage of quality families and homes that we may of had several years ago. When children don't have a quality structured home then they don't develop the sense of morality and quality morals like those seem to have in years past.

Again this is just my opinion

  7. Farmer is a freak athlete who has great feet and balance (thanks to wrestling!). It makes sense to put him at center, an athlete like him gives the coaching staff a lot of flexibility to pull and lead with the center. Having someone like that at center is huge

Used to be Rockhurst, but they have been down lately.  CBC and Blue Springs as of late.  Trinity Catholic and Lutheran have sucked a lot of top flight athletes from St. Louis Public Schools.  Funny that they still cant beat Lamar.  What a joke!!  2A school with 10 D1 athletes on the roster and they cant beat a public 2A farm school.

If you’ve ever been to Lamar and seen the buy in you’ll understand why! Ever student athlete in the school is committed! They have 2 or 3 daily lifting sessions over the summer and the weight room is packed full of both boys and girls. And there’s no b.s.ing going on. They put in work and believe in each other!

I would argue much better than Nebraska ball. Miege, Bishop Carol, Blue Valley High, BV North, and Free State among other programs would go wild against some Nebraska teams

I said that because I know very little about Nebraska high school football. As far as Missouri football, Webb City, Rockhurst, and others would wipe the floor with just about every ks and neb high school teams

Radius guy so that may help too but Bobby Petrino knows offense so if he has a Louisville offer he likely has some electricity on the field.

Edit: after a little film, this dude is big and fast. I don't know how tough Kansas football is but he runs past everyone.

The 5A 6A level of KS football is probably on level with the biggest classes of Nebraska and some of the bigger Missouri classes

Nebraska was AAU accredited when we joined. The only reason we lost it is because they decided that AG research wasn't good enough for their elite little club, but as far as the conference goes we are still considered a good system.

Don't get me wrong,  I would love to have as many of the old big 8 teams join the conference as possible, I just don't see it happening at this point with Oklahoma.  Texas won't be willing to lose the longhorn network so I'm not sure a deal can be struck with the BIG.  Kansas doesn't bring a big enough media market.   Those 3 are the best prospects for expansion but they all come with concerns that make me think the BIG won't be the first to strike.

Wouldn't KU because considered the Kansas City media market? IF KU was to move, it would just help to strengthen the BIGs roots in the KC Metro that is currently divided between the BIG XII, the Big Ten and the SEC (Missouri).

Well then......  this quote is worded stupidly.  Says previous Rule recommended.. then it's not a rule it's a recommendation.  I also don't agree with it.  I don't think DBs should have to wear them.  They aren't taking shots to knees on every play or the lower half of their body like a ball carrier would. Lbs get cut more often and are in the mix more often.  But again the knee pad is really just gonna keep you from getting bruised.  Thanks for the info tho

A lot of people believe that wearing knee pads also help keep other players from getting concussions due to the impact being softened instead of getting a bare knee to the side of the helmet

  13. TMart. Dude was a game changer unlike anyone we had after crouch, and in all honesty while I think TA was a good QB, he wasn't the game changer that TMagic was. Not to mention he got the hell beat out of him, and gave his absolute all to our program. Dude was an NFL caliber athlete who gave so much to our program that he couldn't pass a physical to be in the league.

    Well, good luck to him.

Is it just my perception or have we had more than our share of supposedly high ranked (high for us anyway) recruits that just really haven't contributed much by the time they leave? Newell, Gates, DPE come immediately to mind. I've never followed recruiting very closely and this is a big reason why but it just seems like we haven't had much luck with our higher ranked recruits. I would tend to blame the lack of player development under our last 2 coaches or is it just a string of bad luck on something that amounts to little more than hit or miss?

I think DPE would have been a big contributor but injuries early on really derailed his career

The game that sticks in my mind for Taylor Martinez is @ Kansas State his freshman year. We were #7 in the nation and were coming off a lousy effort against SDSU. Many analysts had us losing to K St and Martinez burned Manhattan down. Wildcats were 4-0 at the time with a win over UCLA. It was a Thursday night game with a lot of anticipation and he exploded for 241 rushing yards and 4 TD, only 15 carries. He only threw the ball 7 times and we won 48-13.

That was my first and only trip to manhattan for a game, and may be my favorite husker game that I've been to! Before the game I was sitting by some older gentlemen who remembered the days of KSU absolutely blowing and they were extremely polite, even told me "they didn't have the horses to compete with a team the likes of Nebraska" but once the game started there was an idiot in front of them who kept turning around towards me and yelling F*CK NEBRASKA AND F*CK YOU! Needless to say I kept my cool until almost half when we were up by 3 scores, and he turned around to yell at me for what seemed like the one thousandth time, and I so politely yelled back "SCOREBOARD A**HOLE!". The dbag then called the number you call when there is a problem in stands and I got ushered to the top of the stadium where I was told I didn't have to leave but I couldn't go back to my seat!

Needless to say I now wouldn't piss on Manhattan if it was on fire!

Looking at a picture and seeing the real thing are not comparable. If guys think wow I will actually see him on campus, get to actually talk to him and get pointers. But my comment was more of a joke to be honest. If he saw him like he wouldnt want to meet him.

Looks like we need to update the picture to Suh in a dolphins jersey
