I'm not as concerned about the number of plays called but the effectiveness of those plays.

    Yards per Rush:

    2016 - 4.20

    2015 - 4.72

    2014 - 5.32

    2013 - 4.80

    2012 - 5.36

    2011 - 4.62

    2010 - 5.47

    2009 - 4.02

    2008 - 4.54

Yes, there were injuries and lack of a top-flight back.

But there was also a complete lack of creativity in the scheme and play-calling.

When you can only beat the vaunted 2009 offense in recent history, that's a problem.

Lack of 3 NFL running backs can make for an anemic run game as well.
And perhaps the backs we had would look more like NFL talent if they could be used in a system that played more to their strengths.

I still believe talent is the bigger issue. Losing Janovich is probably the main reason our ypc dropped so much from 2015. Janovich is also a good example of the coaching staff doing a better job of playing to the strengths of the player than the previous staff.
Without Janovich's carries and yards, NU averaged 4.56 YPC in 2015. So, yes Jano was one factor in the decline in YPC, but that's still a decent decline without him.

You also have to factor in his blocking.
  2. Oprah said in an interview she is not ruling out running in 2020.

I would say this is silly but Trump is our president right now.

I think she might even be able to win.

I think Trump is going to make voters rethink the strategy of electing someone with no political experience.

  4. Things Trump supporters are not outraged about:

Trump's personal attacks against John McCain, POW and decorated war hero.

Trump's personal attacks against the parents of a fallen soldier who died so Trump could live "his pathetic life."

Trump ignoring intelligence briefings to tweet.

Trump blaming everyone involved in the operation he OK'd for Ryan's death, including his team, and not accepting any responsibility himself.

Things Trump supporters are outraged about:

Debbie Wasserman-Schultz didn't stand properly during an ovation.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    I'd add:

    Dodging the draft.

Claiming that avoiding stds was his "personal Vietnam".

Accepting a purple heart because receiving it that way was "much easier".

Equating attending a military-themed boarding school to serving in the military.

Self-aggrandizing in front of the CIA's Memorial Wall.

Claiming to know more about ISIS than our generals.

  5. I was just kind of spitballing about the link to dementia. That did have more to do with the SNL comment than anything. Don't know if I believe he really has that, but heck, Reagan had Alzheimer's and they were able to hide it.

There'd have to be a whole heck of a lot more strong evidence before we start tossing around terms like dementia seriously. It's not like most Trump statements have a firm basis in reality anyway.

The steak thing was just a fun tangent to kick around.

I do find it strange that he comes off as more intelligent in old interviews than he does now. I know sometimes he is intentionally playing to his base but I'm not sure that completely explains it.

Perez nominated Ellison to the position of deputy chair during his acceptance, to thunderous applause.

If nothing else, these guys beat the hell out of Wasserman-Schulz. Pretty progressive dudes, talking about a 50 state strategy... saying all the right things.

Making Ellison deputy chair is just good politics. So already a change from Hillary's bafflingly stupid pick of Kaine.

And employing Wasserman Schultz after she resigned. How out of touch can you get?

I'm guessing that there was some sort of agreement that she would go quietly if she got a position in the campaign. There were rumors that Obama tried to replace her after the 2014 midterms and she threatened to throw a fit so Obama decided it wasn't worth the trouble.

Trump made a splash last summer for saying "why not" on the transgender bathrooms question. Today his administration moves forward to undo the Obama administration's efforts to expand Title IX protection for transgender students, specifically their use of bathrooms according to their gender identity. Trump does this over the (rumored) objections of his education secretary Betsy DeVos.

As if it were not plain before...We should now know what Trump's words mean. Consider this the next time you entertain one of the ludicrous arguments floating around that Trump "is good for _____ people" based on some words he said.

For the record, I do not believe Trump is particularly anti-LGBT. However, he doesn't seem to really care. And that is in effect the same thing: not only is he allowing his administration to move aggressively in the opposite direction, he appears to be energetically driving this motion over in this case the potential objections of his most relevant cabinet member.

Hence why I think it's crucially important to hold people -- politicians and citizens alike -- accountable to the issues about which they claim to care.

He did it because Conservatives love States Rights, imo.

What is his motivation for enforcing federal marijuana laws then?

    @ Dewiz,

    But is Maxine Waters wrong?

Instead of just giving a face palm, show us proof that she is wrong.

Show me proof that Russia helped in rigging the election

Trump has stated that he believes Russia was behind the DNC hacks. You don't believe him?

  9. Shocker. Unqualified person capitulates to terrible person, directed by terrible boss, in effort to hurt kids.

Kudos to DeVos for fighting Sessions and Trump on it though. I did not anticipate her clashing with the administration over transgender rights.

I am still free guys how about you? I do not think a lot of people are going to ever give this guy a chance so he will probably be ridiculed for every thing he does to make this place safe to live. The media is doing its job to try and make Trump look terrible, nothing of such was done to Obama. I am not ashamed that I voted for him and yea he should care less about people dropping Ivanka's line who cares. If they want to drop it cause they are jealous so be it there are far more important things to be done right now. He still gets his four years to be potus, so those of you that are angry will still have him as your potus. One thing we need to do is not try and separate or not allow people who voted for him to be ridiculed, that is just ridiculous. The Toby Keith thing is unfair not allowing someone to perform because he performed for the president at his inauguration is absurd. All people are doing are segregating and separating themselves form others which is not what this country is about. We all get our voice and we all need to continue to respect one another, it saddens me to see all this hatred go around toward one guy or people who voted for him. We all get to live the American dream, so why try and make someone feel bad about their American dream?

Incomes the disagreements, but can we all agree that no matter what opinion we have we are all a part of ONE country. Put aside the labels etc and try to relate to what I am saying, think how much better this country can be if You strive to make the place you live better then when you found it.

    1. The media doesn't make Trump look terrible...Trump does that completely on his own; he references a terror attack in Sweden that never happened.

    2. He makes ludicrous claims, such as: 1) he had the largest inauguration crowd ever, 2) it didn't rain during his speech, 3) calling any news story that is negative as "fake."

Your sentiment that "We are all part of ONE country..." is perfectly fine; however, perhaps you should tell Trump that. Tell him:

    • America's people are black, brown, yellow, red, and white.
    • We are christian, muslim, jewish, buddhist, and many other religions; as well as agnostic, atheist and countless other belief or non-belief systems.
    • We are natives, immigrants, children of immigrants.
    • We are super-rich, rich, upper-middle class, middle class, lower middle class, and poor.
    • Some are straight, some are gay, some are transgender, some are queer, some are bisexual.
    • There are the highly educated, lowly educated, and varying levels in-between.

And finally, there are intersectionalities for many of us between two or more of these points.

He never once said terror attacks in regards about Sweden in his speech on Saturday in Florida....not once.

Why is the media attacking Melania Trump for citing the Lords pray at the Florida rally?

It's more the implication that something happened in Sweden on Friday. If he did not mention a specific day, and also expanded on the fact he was talking about the heightened immigration numbers of Sweden, then the press would not be as critical of his statement. The fact that this is the 3rd time that him or his WH team has mentioned something that either didn't happen (Bowling Green) or happened in another place (Atlanta vs Orlando) makes him seem incompetent.
So they jump to terror attacks?

He cited a specific day and mentioned it along with several cities that were recently hit by terrorist attacks. It doesn't take much of a leap to believe that he was referencing a terrorist attack.

  11. There's no source talking about her support of Sharia other than the typical conservative sites. Most started trolling her about this right after the March. So if you buy totally into Gateway Pundit, Jihad Watch, Fox, TruthFeed and etc. then there's not much I could say or provide to change your mind.

The Snopes article has tweets from her that express support for Sharia Law.
