As a Big 10 fan, I am ecstatic about Nebraska joining the Big 10.
First, for about 10 years Nebraska has been my favorite non-Big 10 team. I think it was the cool helmets and when they dismantled Tennessee in the Orange Bowl in 1997.
Second, going from possibly adding Mizzou, Syracus or Pitt to a crown jewel like Nebraska is just amazing. It is like your dad saying he is going to buy you a new Ford for your 16th Bday then seeing a Lexus in your driveway.
Hopefully this adds some more firepower to the Big 10 vs. the over-hyped SEC. The Big 10 is about .500 against the SEC in Bowls in the BSC era but to hear any SEC fan or the media there is no way the Big 10 is on par with the SEC. I am not sure how the Big 12 faired against the SEC but I think the Big 10's record was very respectible.
