Like I said above,the big numbers being thrown around for that new TV deal is all smoke and mirrors. Those numbers are based on all 10 teams playing highly ranked non-conference teams at home, that means scheduling home and home series with ranked teams that will be aired on national tv. I cant see that happening with teams like Texas, Tech and KSU,that pad their record every year with patsy non-conference teams in play-for-pay games. Dont believe any of the numbers being thrown out there.

The Temporary Ten. Meanwhile, we are in the Big 10 Plus. (I like that name for a conference that doesn't want the brand name to change, so I'm going to pitch it to the powers that be). It wont be "The Temporary Ten", under the "Beebe Plan" OU and all 10 schools will be locked into the TV contract for years to come. OU just signed off on being the Texas lap dog for years to come. This new TV contract is all smoke and mirrors. Like another poster said, this is the old SWC all over again.

We basically lost our tradition when we let Texas into the conference and gave up the Oklahoma game. To stay in this conference and let Texas dictate the terms is to have no self-respect. Look how pathetic the other schools look. Do you want Nebraska to look like that? Texas gets even more power than they had before AND a larger share of the money. Besides that, they get to "SAVE" the Big 12. This has been nothing but a power play to force Nebraska's hand and solidify their position as ruler of the conference. When the facts start dribbling out, you'll see that Texas played the Pac 10 like a fiddle. It was a power grab that was masterfully played. Im a die hard Sooner fan. The biggest mistake that Larry Scott and the Pac 10 made was that he didn't offer Tech,Okie State or Kansas first to assure that the Big 12 died. I need to go puke now.

Probably, and the winner of the conference gets to play in the Cotton Bowl every year.

Welcome to Huskerboard. Hopefully Joe C finally figures out who the real boss is in the Big 12 The Sooner boards have been in meltdown all day. Under the new "Dan Beebe Plan" Texas stands to earn up to $5 million more a year than the #2 school, and have their own network. I always thought Joe C. did a great job, but today 90% of Sooner fans are mad as hell.

Tom Osborne did a great job. OU and Nebraska were in the same spot, a great football program but in a smaller TV market. Osborne had the guts to stand up to Texas a find a better deal, Joe C. at OU is still on his knees in Deloss Dodds office. Good luck to you guys.
