  1. While Prince has been one of our best corners ever, and Roy Helu has been a great running back for us for 4 years, no one in the history of Nebraska football can compare to what Alex Henery has done for our special teams play. I dont care what anyone says, Alex has been the best kicker in the country for the past 2 years and one of the top 3-4 punters for the past 2 years as well. My favorite Henery moments are in order 1) The kick 2) His run against Okie State this year and 3) Last years Big 12 title game. He basically was our offense last year, and has been automatic this year and would be perfect if not for a blocked kick that wasn't his fault. The kid is an absolute stud and I will miss him more then any other senior- by far.

  2. I'm grateful for any bowl game we make, and you should be too. 2007 was not that long ago.

No. This is Nebraska. We're one of the top 10 college football programs in the country. We expect to make a bowl game each year, and we expect to be in a good one. With our talent this season, we should expect to win the Big 12 and make a BCS Bowl. Anything short of that this season, and I will not be grateful. We won 9 games in Pelini's 1st year, 10 last year, and have 10 this year. Getting to 11 would be great, but I want 12.

  3. It depends really. We know Oklahoma is going to throw the ball a lot. As long as they don't have too many huge plays in the air, like what happened in the 1st half @OSU, we will be fine defensively, and could shut them down. As long as we don't have a ton of turnovers on offense, we will be fine.

  4. Black 41 Flash Reverse Pass is to this date, my best memory as a Husker fan. Was too young to really remember any of our titles in the mid 90s. That Oklahoma game in 2001 was the first big Husker game I really remember watching.

Along with that, the game last year was great too. Neither team played that great but it felt really good to beat Oklahoma for the first time in a while.

  5. 5 players on the All Big 12 Defensive 1st team. Wow. I know all of them deserve it, and Dennard might deserve to be on it as well, but its such a good feeling knowing every time you step out on the field, your defense is going to keep you in the game no matter what. 3 of the 5 are seniors, and we might lose Crick, but I still think we'll be loaded on defense again next year.

  6. Even with everything that happened last weekend at A&M, we were still 30 yards away or so from tying the game. This week, were playing at home against a Colorado team that, while they are playing better, are no Texas A&M. I expect the offense to come alive and please, Watson, try a couple trick plays. Zone read after zone read is fine when it is working, but when it is not, try something to keep the defense honest. The defense will be their usual selves and hopefully will get a TD or two.

  7. I think it's been about 10 years since there's been a good enough reason for me to "unrationally" punch holes in any walls, but I just couldn't hold it back this time... Nebraska has been getting screwed by crooked refs and bogus calls all season, but this was sooooooo blatantly obvious. How can the conference get away with it? I just don't get how the NCAA has come down on schools, players, coaches, etc so why not on conferences? Can't wait to get to the Big 10; if not for anything else other than something more honest and just. Don't get on me about, "man why did you punch holes in your wall?" or anything like that... it's not a question of stupidity or lack of control, but curious if anyone else had as much trouble handling this as me?

loss to the refs? really?? you guys really are into the crop circles aren't you??

it had nothing to do with the team you played??

The way you won the game had everything to do with the refs. Without that horrible late hit call, the game is going to OT, or Nebraska is winning it. Could you have won the game in OT? Sure, but we should have had a chance to play the game and not have the outcome be determined by the refs.

  8. This loss is not that hard to take- we still can win the Big 12 championship and win a BCS game. However, the way the game was officiated and especially that last play pisses me off, a lot. Is there a conspiracy theory? I really hope not, but there was something seriously wrong with the way this game was officiated. If you're going to call a tight game, fine, but do it both ways. Holding takes place on the offensive line every game, and its one of the hardest calls a ref has to make. So, if a ref decides to call holding every time he sees anything close to it, fine, but call it both ways. Theres no way a college football game should have a penalty difference of over 130 yards. Even if Pelini was pissing the refs off, thats no excuse for them to call the game poorly. You're supposed to be professionals, you're going to get criticism by the coaches- deal with it. I have no problem with them flagging Pelini for the unsportsman like conduct. If Pelini is yelling at you too much, flag him. Do not flag our players based on how you feel about our coach.

Anyway, lets go beat the living crap out of CU and then whoever we face in the CCG. Take the CCG trophy, smash it, and walk off the field.

  9. We might have the most out of any school in the Army All-American game. Im not positive on that, but 6 players at this point is a lot. Ive checked, and we have more then Florida and Ohio State. Not sure who else could have more. Actually, now that I think of it, Texas probably has more.
