  1. 1. No matter how wide open you are, dropping the ball makes you look foolish

    2. Shawn Watson may have been possessed by the spirit of Bill Callahan for a better part of 2 quarters

    3. Hang time isn't important during onside kicks

Actually, hang time is important for onside kicks, the distance you get it past 10 yards is not. What we learned:

    1) Taylor Martinez is not as bad as his stats show today, but nowhere near as good as he was against KSU

    2) Our defense is not as good as last year

    3) Bo Pelini is learning, but is not the best coach in the country, and not top 5 either

    4) We all hate Texas

    5) We still can win the Big 12 and win a BCS game

  2. I agree that it was a bad decision. But what Bo was thinking is that he has momentum and the offense has not played well at all. Maybe he thought the only way they could score is if they get the ball on the 50. But then again, kick it deep, get a 3 and out, a good punt return and youve got the same position.

  3. This team is like those of the 80s. Piss away the big games. Y the hell don't we have receivers. U telling me those fast kids at smaller schools would ALL rather play there and not a top D1 TEAM. Just lazy recruiting. Also watson needs to go. His lack of adjustments and creativeness shows up again

This loss hurts. Really bad. Not as worse as last year in the Big 12 Championship though, for some reason. I guess its because we still have a lot of games to play, and we still can accomplish everything that we wanted to. Lets be honest, we were not going to win the national championship this year, not with a freshman quarterback. Not with this much inexperience on the defensive front.

  4. This game is far from over. But our offense needs to respond right now, get a TD, get it to 17-10 and then get a stop. We need some turnovers on defense as well, Gilbert doesnt look too confident when hes dropping back to pass.

We're 5-0, this is Texas, its the biggest game of the year, if you're not ready Bo needs to get them off the field.

We'll find out in the next 2 1/2 quarters what this teams made of.

  5. I live in Illinois and obviously on ABC the Iowa-Michigan game is going to be on. However, when I went to ESPN to set a timer for the game, it said "This channel is not availble in your area,". Im pretty ticked off, but before I have a breakdown Im just wondering if anyone else is having this issue.

Yeah, im a student at Ohio State (Family grew up in Nebraska, fan all my life), and we get the Iowa-Michigan game here on ABC. The Nebraska game is on the NON HD channel for ESPN. So if you're trying to program the game on the ESPNHD channel, try the non hd one.

  6. Well, nevermind. It looks like my question was already answered. After looking at College Gameday's website, it seems they are going to be in Madison, Wisconsin this weekend instead. I guess we can thank Texas for their two losses which completely downgraded the severity of this weekend's game on a national level. Oh well, at least starting next year we should have plenty of higher profile match-ups to help.

Yeah, you can pretty much guarantee that Gameday will either be at our game in Wisconsin or in Lincoln for the Ohio State game the following week. I know we said that about the Texas game during the offseason this year, but odds are we will be a top 10 team going into those games and Ohio State will as well. Wisconsin should be a top 25 team too.

  7. Never happened.

Michigan and VT are the only FBS teams to lose to teams that were in the FCS at the time of the game.

Thats not true. VT and Michigan are the only schools that were ranked at the time and lost to an FCS school. Just this year, Kansas lost to one, so did Ole Miss.

  8. I am fine with that assesment, I dont really agree with it, but he makes some good points.

We are not sure what type of defense we will have without Suh reeking havoc on the offensive line all game. We obviously have talent on that side of the ball, and excellent coaching, but we dont know how dominant we will be without the country's most dominant defensive lineman since Reggie White.

We all hope that the offense will look like it did in the Holiday Bowl rather then earlier that year, but its certainly not out of the question to think that our performance against Arizona was a fluke.

Now, I think hes wrong, and we will be in the hunt for a Big 12 Championship and possible National Championship if things work out, but I dont think we as Husker fans should be too mad about what Mandel had to say.
