  1. Yes, PurpleDrank, teams get better along the way, such as U-Dub last year. And teams get worst along the way, evidence in our waning performance down the stretch last season. Where is the clear-cut answer in this? Somewhere in the middle. Anyways, enjoy the game, hopefully that crazy kid who films himself during Washington games puts up another video, and here's to hoping for a good game, which the more I think about it, it probably will be close® than anticipated. My seats are right next to the Washington section, so it'll be interesting talking with some of the Husky fans. GBR and Saturday cannot get here soon enough!

  2. I get the feeling this one will be closer than I would like. Personally, I want a beat-down, especially after what happened in the Holiday Bowl. It's not that I don't have faith in us, it's the fact that I'm willing to bet UDub comes rollin' into Lincoln pretty damn jacked up. That being said, Nebraska 31 Washington 10.

And yes, some of us here in Nebraska do say 'ya'll.' Just like some of you in Seattle are obsessed with coffee. GBR and Husker F***in' Power.

  3. Guys,

I wanted to introduce you to a forum that I've had a small hand in starting. It's formed by and for Clemson fans who just simply got tired of the paysite forums and wanted a fair place to go talk about our team, as well as other topics. The paysites are too concerned with making money that they won't ban a problem user because he or she has paid their $100 per year and they don't want to refund it. So we decided to start one without all of the garbage. It is in very infant stages, and it's been put together quite quickly, but already has some good discussions. This is not and will not be a competitor of Huskerboard. I did suggest that we use a similar layout to Huskerboard, since you guys have the layout down pat over here. I hope the mods and admins take that as a complement and not an insult. Anyway, we started it up last Friday and have a whole 7 users right now (I know, kinda laughable, but you have to start somewhere), so if you guys would like to get into some good conversations (the #1 topic right now is favorite beers) come on by and check it out. My name over there is "aeargle," because there can only be one killer cacti, and he's on Huskerboard, and has all intentions of sticking around.

    Anyways, here it is: http://seldomusedreserve.freeforums.org/index.php

Feedback is more than welcome and even encouraged.

  4. As many of you have probably heard, an accident occurred Sunday afternoon near Perry, OK involving a family of Husker fans from Elkhorn, NE. One of those involved in the accident, is actually a friend of mine, and is in bad shape, as is his father. Both are at the OU medical center in OKC, and sadly, my friend's mother passed away from the accident. They drove down to Dallas to support our Big Red, and now let's see if the Big Red will support them in their time of need. I think it would be a very nice gesture if by any means, the football team could attend the mother's funeral. Probably a "pipe dream" type of idea, but I figured I would see what others thought. Have a great day, and this really puts the game of football into perspective.

they were the family in the gray motor vechicle weren't they?

    Yes they were.

  6. Getting back to the original point, I totally agree with this post. I'm not sure you could say it any better. To it I would add this: I think it's time for a lot of fans to start trusting Dr. Osborne. I hear so many comments in the neighborhood of "Well, Tom would never act like this..." "If Tom were still coach, we wouldn't see this on the sideline..." All of these comments are certainly true. Different guys. Different styles. But if we're all such admirers of Tom Osborne (as I think we all probably should be) then let's trust him to do his job. He knows what none of us do: The pressure of coaching the Huskers. If Dr. Osborne sees something that he can't live with, he's going to deal with it. I think people should trust that. This thread is titled "The Trial of Mark 'Bo' Pelini" and I'm encouraging you to keep your judgments to yourselves. We are not his peers. We're in no position to judge. We can have expectations. We can disagree. We can feel ashamed of Bo's behavior. But I still think it's important that the players and coaches have our support, and that we trust that our Chancellor and our AD will do what needs to be done.

    Go Big Red.

Let's finish this thing the right way.

Exactly my point. Let's get behind this team, and put the crap from College Station behind us.

  7. Late November. The cold wind howls and the sky is apt to open it's floodgates of freezing rain and drizzle upon us. Many said we were an "elite" football team upon the start of the season, in truth, we are not. Yes, we had a damn good showing in Holiday Bowl against Arizona. But, we are not elite. We are very good, but I agree with another post on here that we wrote it in stone back in September that we were National Title worthy. Fast forward to this week. We are in shambles, quite possibly the most outraged team and fanbase with 9 wins that most other programs with kill for. Conspiracy, sideline behavior, and rumors abound; we must circle the wagons. We have to. No other way to put it. Colorado will throw everything they have at us, like they always do, and we have to counter that. If Taylor isn't ready to play, develop a game plan to suit Cody's strengths. No zone read, he doesn't have the initial burst to make that play click. Line up under-center, run the ball between the tackles, some option plays, establish the toss sweep and the halfback pass should be broken out. Allow Rex the reigns to the Wildcat. Last year at this time, we were 8-3 before Colorado. Our offense was as inept at producing yards and points as the French winning a war; but we didn't have the angry fan base as we do today. Whatever the outcome of the Big 12 title game, that can wait. We need to focus on Colorado. If we don't win against the Buffs, our season goes down in vain; a disappointment as big as being randomly selected for a search by the TSA. The conspiracy and Bo/Carl's behavior? Put it behind us, we got screwed down in College Station, let's move on. Let's play our brand of football from last year to win games. Run the ball, play defense and allow Alex Henery's right leg to dictate field position. In short, don't give up hope. Circle the wagons. Declare war the on the Big 12. If any of you are going to the game on Friday, f'ing yell. Yell early, yell often, yell like hell. And when your voice goes out, try your damn best to yell some more. Let this team know that you are behind them. I will not be at the game on saturday, but I will do my own part in Dallas. Football, yes, is just a game, and I mean this as no disrespect to Veterans of our great country, but this, this Friday and December 4th in JerryWorld, is a basically a declaration of war. GBR!

  8. Watson has got to go, like I previously stated. If you don't have the horses to run at will on a good defense, that's when you have to get creative and think outside the box. That's where Watson fails.

The only thing, I fear, is that Bo may promote Barney Cotton to OC.

  9. I was at the game tonight and I was very disappointed in the Texas A&M fans tonight when Martinez got injured. The entire stadium erupted and cheered his injury. Overall I have always felt good about A&M fans in general but this really made them look bad.

I didnt hear them cheer when he went down but i didnt hear them cheer when he got up neither.

The place was loud, even at times when we were on offense. Normally the place gets really quiet when someone goes down on either team. If people were cheering when he got hurt that is not acceptable in my book.

it was dead silent when he went down, nobody wanted to see that.

OP just trying to make Aggies look bad like this entire site is trying to do!!

Okay, first off, I apologize for the "goat roper" comment.

Second, there were alot of questionable things that Aggie players did. A la the Ben Cotton situation.

  10. So you believe it is Watson's fault that in 11 drives out of the game today, we had a penalty on 8 of them?

You think it is Watson's fault that Martinez cannot push off on his foot which results in horrid throws?

You think it is Watson's fault he can ask that we double Von Miller, but yet he still finds a way to get pressure?

Or you think it is Watson's fault that our WR's cannot catch, but somehow our TE's can?

But all of that will fall on deaf ears. If you think Watson was our problem tonight, you have issues.

I think it goes to coaching when, after working with these players this far into the season, you have that many penalties (and the formation, false start penalties seemed (just from watching on TV) to be legitimate. Not ALL of those penalties were, mind you, but some were.

I think it's also on Watson to develop our back-ups into competent back-ups or to build enough strengh on offense so that the game doesn't rest on a single player's shoulders.

Our problems were compounded for a variety of reasons tonight, but we seemed to have consistently struggled on offense without Martinez (last year, and this year when he was less than 100%). I think that kind of falls onto the offensive mastermind and coach. I'm not on the "FIRE WATSON" bandwagon by any means, but I think if you asked him, he would take a good portion of the responsibility for offensive shortcomings.

I wasn't until tonight. Like I said, I've been a big fan of the work he's done, but any OC worth his salt, should know the best way to attack a 3-4 blitzing front is to line up in Double TE sets. That way, it turns into a numbers game up front; just like military tactic, you take your strong point, put up against their weak point, and push through.
