  1. You know you guys are gonna have to play against our offense and special teams as well? FYI, our defense is called the Blackshirts, not our entire team. You just lost a lot of credibility there, sorry. I'm aware that it's just the D that are called the Blackshirts. The question I had received was specific to the match-up of the Nebraska defense versus the Washington offense so that stuck in my mind for the thread. Good catch, though. I don't want to come over here and sound like a foreigner, at least not anymore than I already have.
  2. Looking at the schedule, I see the very winnable games as BYU, Syracuse, Arizona State, UCLA, Cal and Washington State. Oregon State could be a possibility since it's at home and 'Zona is right in that mix as well. That is 8 potential wins right there. The remaining 4 are Stanford (I'm higher on them than others), @ USC (they'll be looking for revenge, could be a real toughy) @ Oregon (not the most realistic bet to call a win) and the Blackshirts (even if I believed it I would project victory here; I'm outnumbered..haha). Putting all optimism aside, something in the 7-5 or 8-4 range seems about right. If things go really well, maybe winning 1 or 2 in that last group of 4 pushes it up to the 9 or 10 win range, which is where the Alamo Bowl/Holiday Bowl talk comes in.
  3. Assuming that those guys would be coming off the edge, confidence would be fairly high that they could at least be slowed down. As I mentioned, the LT Kelemete is a stud that the coaching staff can't stop raving about. The hope would be that he can neutralize the rush without help. On the right side, Habben isn't quite at that level, but a more important factor might be the blocking ability of TE Chris Izbicki who'll be asked to chip and support the line when facing a big time pass rush. Up the middle could be a different story since there has been some shuffling at the guard and center positions, but if everyone is settled in by the third game, it should be a solid, but not necessarily spectacular group. Of course, that Locker guy playing quarterback is pretty good when it comes to escaping the rush and making plays out of the pocket.
  4. Note to self: stay away from "Hey Husker fans". Good to know. Thanks!
  5. Hey Husker fans. I just finished a fairly comprehensive season preview for the Washington Huskies and thought you may want to check it out to get a feel for how the Dawgs shape up going into the match-up. It should be a tremendous atmosphere for that game, especially if both teams can get to it unscathed. Hopefully some of you will be making it out to Seattle for the game! If you're interested in other Pac 10 teams, feel free to check out some of the other previews that are being posted as well. Enjoy! Thanks, Tim (AKA the Washington Guru) pac10guru.blogspot.com
