  1. I didn't see many changes. I saw Zaire and he had a good game. I was hoping to see more DT's, but only saw Bake, Williamson, and Thad. I didnt see any of them playing poorly. Saw new faces at corner Siesay and Jean-Baptiste. I didnt see a 3-4, didnt espect to. Looked like the same old D to me.

I would like to see more attacking, less containing. That aint happening.

What grade do you give the D? You think it will look diferent come B1G play?

  2. Another thought, what the hell happened to this guy? I remember see a young Cam sub in late '09 screeming off the edge and looking to destroy QB's. Now he gained 30 pounds and cant move. This guy was poorly developed.

No one was blocking him because Suh was being quadruple-teamed.

I should have noted in '09 he was only getting mop-up duty when Suh was off the field.

  3. Eric Martin along with Stafford are to only guys I see on D who want to hit somebody. I have watched Cam dancing with O-linemen long enough.

That's what I was going to say.

The blackshirts need to get back to doing psychological damage of laying people out. "Attacking Defense", and hitting people. Smackdown, etc.

Whoever can do that needs to be in the game. I'm even ok with a missed tackle because someone was trying to destroy an offensive player, now and then (I think Stafford did that today?).

    More hits, more good.

How bout another guy who can hit people. Remember Courtney Osborne? I think he is a regular on kick return, but that is for another thread.

  4. Well, I guess we wondered why Florida State stayed, and we got our answer.

The 'little more news' will probably revolve around something to do with Notre Dame's current NBC Sports deal.

I believed the reason FSU stayed was ESPN not giving any extra dollars to a larger Big12. Why would ESPN want to diminish its investment in the ACC? I had imagined this coming up again if NBC or Fox would come into the bidding, could still. After all FSU could sue over the exit fee.

Aside from that ND's schedule looks a little different. The ACC gains some stability for now. I am suprised by this, but not a big deal.

  5. It all comes down to recruiting, and Bo's first two classes are really hurting us right now. Alot of reaches in those classes, but the past couple of classes are loaded with talent.

Agreed! Now if we can just keep them from transferring!

We have had a lot of bad luck misses in recruiting. I feel the conference change is effecting our D right now. It is hard to build a D to stop the spread, then turn it around to stop the run heavy B1G.

I do remember last year the D was gashed by Fresno St and Washington. The D will get better if for the sole reason that B1G offense is bad.

  6. I hate to jump on this bandwagon considering problems that it leads to, but my gut tells me we need to bring in a few more JuCo transfers. The state of KS has some of the best JuCo's in the country. There's no reason to let KState have it's pick of the litter every year. Snyder has made a living with JuCo's. We've gotten some very good talent in the past from JuCo's. I'd like to see us hit it a little harder especially with regards to the OL, DL, and LB.

Nu under Pelini has regularly taken around 4 JUCOs. JUCO players are risky, they are at a JUCO for a reason and I would want to see any more than 6 in a large class. I think we have offered around 6 or 7 this year which I feel is about right.

  7. I think we are getting a bit ahead of ourselves. UCLA could be a very good team. I know there are problems in the D-Line, but they could be repaired by Rome, Williams, and others.

I guess I am tired of hearing about how bad things are, thks Pason Peter, and feel we could be OK when the B1G comes calling.

    The sky is not falling.

  8. Nebraska Harry, at least I'm not afraid to go against the grain and have an original thought... you, on the other hand, are the biggest follower on this entire board. All you do is go along with the popular opinion and then act like you know something.

We do still have a rule against personal attacks on this board. Disagree with his points all you want, but if you want to call someone out, go to the Woodshed.

But apparently it's ok to say someone is retarded. I'm confused

Oh but you are wrong and here is why. I don't single out a said poster when I use the "r" word. It is just a reference to all the posters on here that I dislike Wichita guess is the majority of the populace

I don't think NU even plays Wichita.

  9. I like the creativity of looking at a 3-4, but we all know Bo won't switch the D that drastically mid-season.

It drives me nuts watching our D-line lining up a yard from scrimage. I never see anyone else doing that. How does that give you any advantage?

Good News: we play in the Big10.

  10. Just a matter of time before we hear about Brion being moved to a different position. Where could he play? I'm thinking receiver because that might be the easiest position to grasp.

Carnes isn't moving to a different position. Disappointing to see him not move ahead, I really liked him out of high school. If he gets passed up for number 2 he's gone, and we can all start calling for Tommie to take over for Martinez which is OK.

  11. Sounds like the ship has sailed on this kid ... and frankly, I agree ... he doesn't seem like that great of a talent ... and then you add in the "tude" ... it just isn't worth the risk. Good luck at UNC young lad ... and in life.

Really doubt UNC is an option unless he wants to walk-on. Sad that the fruit fell so far from the tree here.

I had this guy penciled in, had no doubt he would get it together. What a waste of talent, very disappointing.
