  1. I dont really give a damn about the academic issue discussed in the article. The issue is that from the start of the Big12 TX was able to rally all other members of the Big8. Every one of these institutions caved into TX and voted with them on numerous issues. TX came into the Big12 and claimed it was bigger than the Big8, and only one school called them on it NU. Im sad to see things end like this, but the fault lies with the Big8, more specifically the Big12 North. They just rolled over and will get what they deserve. No more raising ticket prices and knowing youll get a sell out when NU comes to town. Hello to being TX's lap dog.

  2. has had official visits to ND on 9/10, UCLA on 9/17, NU 10/29. Has mentioned an official to Stanford in Nov. Id bet hes also made some unofficial visits, I think his sister is at Florida.

Im starting to become excited about Wayne.

  3. Id love to see the all reds. I was about 12 when NU broke out all reds against OU in '85. It brought the excitement level in the stadium up even higher. Of course I was 12 and got tickets in the student section for a night game, so everything was completely out of control.

I do like the all reds. Any change to the helmet will never happen.

  4. TX has a far better D than NU has seen, but their strength is in the secondary. UCLA killed TX running the ball, forcing TX to throw, and getting some turnovers. I see no reason NU cant do the same.

NU needs Martinez to be patient and not press things when the big plays arent happening, and NU needs Watson to be patient sticking with the run game knowing the big plays will come in the 2nd half. If NU limits the turnovers they're a better team than anybody on the schedule.

  5. TX will be a tougher D than NU has seen by far. T-Mart wont run for 200, he needs to limit turnovers. If NU gets a lead and forces TX to throw its over the O, can take a knee and let the D score. My only worry is T-Mart not getting big plays and forcing things into turnovers.

T-Mart rises to the challenge, NU hangs half a hundred on em.

  6. Missouri maybe better than we think, beating the Illini, who played Ohio State tough and beat Penn State, gives them a little credit.

Gabbert got hurt yesterday I think, have not heard how bad it was

Okie Lite is a good team and undefeated, helps the BCS situation if both are still undefeated in the next three weeks.

A&M looked pretty good against Arkansas.

We have several tough games left it appears to me, and all of them want to send us out a loser. We get their A games no question.

I really could care less who we play in a Bowl game if we get to a bowl game, I am far more concerned about games we have to win to get to a bowl.

"If we get to a bowl game" they need one more win man. I think theyll do it.

I do think Mizzou, OK ST, TAM, UT, or even CU could beat NU. I also think NU is better than everyone of these teams. All I need to see is Martinez win a close game when he dosent play well. If NU limits their turnovers they win out.

Im not thinking about NU's bowl destination until Nov.

  7. I hope this happens. It would be a small consolation to losing OU as a rival to the Big12, but I like to play OU. NU not playing OU is one of the worst things to happen to college football. It was one of 2 or 3 of the games everyone in the country had to see in the 70's and 80's. Maybe that dosent matter anymore to anyone and maybe Im too nostalgic, but it matters to me.

I blame Bob Stoops for the loss of NU OU and believe it is gone forever, but I think this would be good and it needs to be locked down now.

Why does Stoops get the blame? He wasn't even OU's coach when the Big 12 formed. The OU AD made the decision not to continue the rivalry on a yearly basis about 5 years before Stoops was hired.

I remember quotes from Stoops regarding cross division rivals as being "well does TX have to play NU every year". He also has said there is no reason to be playing quality opponents in non-con games. It may very well be the AD's blame, but I enjoy blaming Stoops.

I know the exact quote you're talking about, but it wasn't a diss towards Nebraska. His reason was valid from a strength of schedule standpoint.

I guess a person could read different things into the quote and I see your point. I took it as Stoops quite casually dismissing the tradition of NU OU. I hate Stoops.

  10. The Big10 has attempted to get ND after adding PSU, and if they were successfull after theyre last attempt NU wouldnt be moving to the Big10. NU was the Big10's second choice thats the way it is.

I hate ND, but will point out they have been in a BCS game against Oregon ST in about 2003, more recently than NU.

If anyone was to benefit from having their own network it would be ND. We know the Big12 will allow this. When the TV contracts come up in 2015 for ND and 2016 for Big12 I could see ND and BYU in the Big12 in 2015. I know the Big10 gets a new deal in 2016 also, but ND has passed on the Big10 twice now and the Big12 offers something differnet. It all depends on the money NBC will give ND.

  11. A bit off topic. One year ago everyone was feeling good about having Zac Lee at QB. Perhaps feeling better about Lee than everyone currently feels about Martinez who one year ago was thought of as a saftey. A lot can change in a year, and Im good with having Spano's maturity on the roster next season.

  12. Boise St's nonconference schedule is VA Tech, OSU, Wyoming, and Toledo. They could give up some home games and do better than that.

They only have 6 home games. Are you saying they should have less home games than 6?

I bet no other WAC school has more than 6 home games. If you want a top 60 schedule playing in the WAC, yes you need less than 6 home games.
