  1. I like Niles. I think the change in offense has limited his opportunities in the passing game, though he did make some nice plays in the Washington game.

His fumbling problems do worry me in the return game, but I do think he will make some plays in conference play. Im not ready to throw him under the bus yet.

  2. NU will never play in Boise, and they really shouldnt. With 3 NonConference games in the near future, all teams in a conference playing 9 conference games will be looking to have all 3 noncon games at home every other year to secure the coveted 7 home games a year. That means only 1 road noncon game every 2 years. When NU goes on the road they want to go places they get recruits, LA and TX.

    NEVER HAPPEN

  3. Just to contribute to this speculation ND's TV deal is up 2015, Big 12's in 2016. I dont see the Big 12 moving unless theres more TV money in it, meaning a CCG. I dont see ND joining a conference unless NBC wont pay up.

Big 12 adding BYU and TCU wont happen. BYU needs a bigger fish to follow along to the Big 12.

  4. Its a big risk going to 16. There are many aspects to a 16 team conference that cant be predicted, mostly the scheduling. I know everyone wants TX and all the money that comes with them. I just think the Big 10 or SEC dont want to ruin what they have by going to 16. The PAC 10 was just desperate to get into more time zones.

  5. Im not going to get on board with the demise of the Big 12. I just dont see the Big 10 or SEC going to 16 teams. I think everyone is under estimating the programs at Tech, OK Lite, and A&M. The downfall of the conference would be probation at OU or UT. The Big 12 will take some steps backwards, but not fall off the map.

I am interested to see what the Big 12 bowl lineup looks like in 5 years. They could get dumped by the Holiday Bowl.

  6. Cody has had his problems as of late. That said hes the backup QB. That means hes one play from being the stating QB.

It seems to me he needs to control his emotions, get whats there and get another play. I see hes struggling, but also see his potential.

  7. NU went after Middleton. I think they seem open to a TE who could impact immediately. Dont know why the coaches would cool on Harper so much. Guess well see.

Would Harper he a 3 for 2? Dont know where his elligableity stands.

  8. I hate Boise St. 1 million for BSU compared to 800k for Idaho.

So if it was a 1 game in Lincoln, 200k gets you on national TV. Sounds like a bargain.

I dont see Boise going to anyone else's house for 1 game, so I doubt this is what the article really amounts to.

MOD EDIT - No sexual references in the forums. Put it in the Woodshed if you feel the need to swear.

  9. I believe Iowa will be a respectfull rival for NU. Everyone in the Big 10 wants to get their shots in at NU, Iowa probably more so. As a border rival they have probably been measuring their program against NU for quite some time. I find most hawkeye fans knowledgeable, but every fan base has a few. The most tired argument I get is "Nebraska dosent want to play Iowa". This argument comes from the few unknowledgeable hawkeye fans.

The TX game will be nuts, congrats Caven.

  10. I think KState is under-rated. Snyder in year 2, they could end up a top 20 team. We have trouble stopping the run. Bo's teams always look ready to play in night games.

Im worried, but Im worried about almost every conference game.

  11. Dang - didn't even think about that fact. That is true that with all of the medical facilities around the stadium being open on Friday it would probably preclude them from being able to do the game that day. I wonder if we could do it on Fridays in Lincoln but Saturdays in Iowa City to at least get it on Friday half the time.

Whats the deal Caven? We arent talking about the ER right. Shut it down. Id be disappointed if this game couldnt be played on Friday. It is Nebraska's tradition and would give the rivalry a national spotlight.

On a side note, Iowa fans have good reason to be chirpy. I just am in a transition from having Iowa as my Big 10 team for the last 15 years.
