  1. If you're a Denver fan, are you excited to face the Seahawks or upset the 49'ers lost (you don't necessarily have to be a Denver fan to answer)? If I had my choice, I'd want to face Seattle. Seattle has the more physical secondary, but the 49'ers had the best front seven in the NFL. On top of that, they've got a ton of difficult match ups offensively with Kap, Boldin, Crabtree and Davis. Oh, and they've got one of the better backs in the NFL this year in Gore.

Though Seattle has Wilson, Lynch and that secondary, I think you have to feel like you got the better end of the deal as a Broncos fan. Plus, Wilson has zero experience playing in a game to the level of the Superbowl, while Manning has tasted both victory and defeat in one of the world's biggest sporting events.

Agreed, except for that statement slightly. Seattle's front 7 is nearly as good. Arguably better.

  2. Except, you know, all of the stats.

The point that I'm trying to make that as is Brady only trails Manning by a small margin in a per game basis, all while playing with an indisputably poorer supporting staff. Top that off with a much better playoff record, and two more Super Bowls. Brett Favre has a lot of bulk stats. Is he the greatest of all time?

  3. Not only is every stat in Peyton's favor (NY/A, ANY/A, TD%, INT%, etc) but Brady had the benefit of some ridiculous defenses and Bill Belichick. Meanwhile Peyton had to stumble through seasons with lolMora, Dungy (most overrated coach of all time) and LOLOLOLJimCaldwell.

Peyton on the Pats wins 6 Super Bowls.

Peyton's had the #1 seed many times (typically the indicator of best team) and failed to even win a game in the playoffs. Belichick was 36-44 before he got to NE, and his legacy was built the day Brady became his quarterback. If your best argument in the Manning v Brady argument is Belichick, then I can play the card that Brady is much better in big games. Neither really have much to back them except opinion.

  4. Hint: if you want to compare a QB with Manning, it better be Montana or Marino (or Unitas if you really wanna go throwback). Get that Brady crap out of here, if Peyton played for Belichick with that defense he'd have 6 Super Bowls. Brady probably isn't even top-5, although he's close.

You have nothing to back that up. It's just your opinion.

  5. For what its worth:

    Per Game Averages

    Manning- 270 yds 2 td 0.9 int 65.5% (1 Super Bowl)

    Brady- 257 yds 1.88 td 0.7 int 63.4 % (3 Super Bowls)

Manning played the majority of his career with the likes of Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Dwight Clark, and now Thomas/Decker/Welker/Thomas. Brady played the majority of his career with Troy Brown, Deion Branch, Reche Caldwell, David Givens, with brief stints of Moss/Welker/Hernandez/Gronkowiski.

    Everyone's entitled to their opinion.

  6. This guy is a special, special talent. Seriously don't know how he's a 5 star. Hope he takes the Ameer route and decides if pro whatever is in the cards now it will be later as well. Wouldn't fault him if he goes though.

  7. Most college undergrads are shockingly terrible at reading and writing. What's even funnier is you'll often find foreign students have a better grasp of English, especially written, than American undergrads. It's f'ing pathetic.

This. Even some guys I know who do well in school cannot read or write worth jack. Pretty sad.

  8. Believe Damon Benning once said Taylor along with Gill had the most talent of any quarterbacks to play at NU. He talked about how good they both were throwing the football, as well as running, and made a point how most of their passes were play action or fake option where they would often turn their back completely to the defense, turn around, set their feet, and have to relocate their target, as well as throw a good ball. He really stressed how difficult that was, especially in comparison to today, where everything is shotgun and spread. Was born after Taylor played, but I was shocked at how good he was from games/highlights I've seen. He was fast, strong, smart, and had a very good arm.

  9. Was kind of thinking Austin Cassidy myself based on the description. Seems kind of a big step for a guy who just got done playing. Also, need to remember that position coaches don't really have to have to played said position. Lots of cases of guys coaching multiple position groups throughout their career.

  10. Interesting numbers. Obviously it's an unfair advantage to southern teams, but I understand it. I got free tickets to the Big 12 championship game a few years back when it was at Arrowhead. I'm probably just a wuss, but it was freezing cold, snowy, and miserable. Cool memory, but it was zero fun sitting there freezing my butt off. If I'm a southern fan, and not particular used to the cold, I'm going to think real long about traveling 10 hours to a game in Chicago where I'm going to be miserable the whole time.

  11. Pro Bowl

All Pro is a WAY bigger honor than the Pro Bowl. Only thing is, he doesn't get a free vacation to Hawaii.

I didn't know there was a difference. Guess that's how much I pay attention to this.

And, I'm sure he can afford his own plane ticket.

Pro Bowl is voted on by the fans. Basically, like the MLB All-Star game it's more about name recognition and less on performance. All Pro is voted on by writers, who while not always the smartest bunch, come much closer to determining the best at each position.

  12. WTF was that "Hero Alabama" story splash? YEEEWSSSSS1! BEST FOLLOW UP TO AN SEC SLOB JOB EVER!!!!

Did I miss something? What was this "Hero Alabama" thing?

Before Bama started their drive the music came on, nice graphics with Bama colors and the kids and teams history blah blah blah, a second later the kid get's slapped drops the ball and Okie scores, it was magic heh.

Haha! Hilarious. Watched the whole game but somehow missed the graphic. It was such a perfect ending, and the squib recovery was icing on the cake.

  13. HAHAHAHAHA WHAT?.....

Our O-Line was excellent this year, even with half of the 2-deep rotation injured.

    Unbelievable.....

"Excellent" is a severe, severe stretch. The injuries have to be taken into account, no question. But, as an overall unit, they were slightly above average at best this season. I'm not sure what line you were watching if you thought they were excellent, because it certainly wasn't Nebraska's.

Excellence would be what Stanford and Alabama had throughout the season. In comparison to those programs, Nebraska has a long ways to go.

Excellent might be a stretch, but they were easily the best line we've had in a long time. I said the same thing last year, and this unit continues to improve. I can't wait to see it continue to improve with all of the really good OL recruits we have pulled in the past couple recruiting classes.

Agreed. Not a top-tier o-line, but they were pretty dang good. Probably the best in 10 years. Improved consistency game to game and the cutdown on penalties were especially promising.

  14. One thing you have to consider when evaluating Quincy's career, and is often overlooked for Niles Paul as well, is their blocking. Enunwa is the greatest blocking wide receiver we have ever had.

That is some high praise. We have had some great blocking WR. Ross Pilkington was excellent. I would say that Q and Niles are the best that also were game changing pass catchers.

Yeah we've had some great blocking wideouts over the years, but Q is a monster. I don't even care about the highlight blocks, he just locks on dudes and grounds them.
