It's so sad that the 1995 team has to witness this kind of effort.
WAKE UP Nebraska Administration & Boosters! BRING BACK POWER FOOTBALL!
I honestly believe that we could've had the 95 squad suit up and they'd've put on a better showing.
Desire is a funny thing. This team simply doesn't want to win bad enough.

The administration should be the first ones run out of town.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA this team is a joke. NW scores it's game over. This is what you get Riley when you don't run two a days in fall camp, don't sit players for bad play and try to run a pass first offense in the B1G. GO BACK TO OREGON YOU HACK!
-
You gotta start benching bad play. You gotta teach them.

This entire staff needs to be sent back to Oregon. They are just horrible. All 3 facets of the game are falling apart.

You gotta press when you blitz. The QB just has to take a quick slant or hook. Bad Scheme.

Northwestern held Stanford to 85 yards rushing.
You guys don't understand that you have to attack weaknesses of defenses right? LOL why I even come here on gameday....i don't even know.
Thanks for that insight on the first game of the season.
..........You don't get the point..errrr?
You also have to play to your strengths and weaknesses. Tommy is not a guy you want to rely on slinging it around 50-60 times a game.

sh#t series

The crowd would have went nuts if Gangwish would have brought him down...man, their QB has a great stiff arm!
If that freshy qb can get his throwing mechanics down, look out the next three years.
yeah hes gonna be good

There we go starting to get a push.
-
God run your damn route Turner. Should have that one.

I do not see this team going bowling this year. We may not even beat Purdue. The only saving grace is upset either unbeaten MSU or Iowa to prevent HCMR's seat from getting warm.
I stand by what I said earlier...If Riley & this staff cannot win at least 6 games...just 6 games with this talent then we should cut our losses at the end of this season and make a change for the betterment of the program.
Yup. We will be resetting the staff in 5 years anyway if he's succesful and retires.

I've never seen banderas drive someone back on a tackle
Hard to do that when he's 3 steps behind whoever he's responsible for.
-
Nobody home.
-
That was a great fake by Tommy.
-
Get Sterup out of the game. These coaches leaving poor players in the game is gutting us.
-
Can't turn your back on the play Tommy. QB 101.
-
Nice blocking...
-
Whoever missed that block should see the bench. Stop rewarding bad play with game time. Only way these players wake up.

Armstrong couldn't hit a building today.
-
Time to bench Armstrong for someone else. He won't learn any other way. Gonna force the ball into bad situations, then you don't play. Garbage football on offense. Our defense needs to get in their faces right now.

I'd be more concerned about his reaction to Carson Palmer's quote before we played (laid down for) USC in '07:
"Nebraska? Piece of cake squad. That program died in the Rose Bowl against Miami a few years ago and hasn't been since. Easy win."
Damn that's cold.

Luck has nothing to do with it? You choose your own luck? I disagree to some extent. Luck plays a part of every game, the impact it plays vary from game to game. Texas in the conference championship? Bad luck. Different set of refs may have made a different call. We could have won the conference title.
Does bad luck excuse our record this year? No, it doesn't, by any means. We haven't had great coaching thus far, and I'm just as disappointed as everyone else is. That doesn't mean bad luck doesn't happen in sports, because it does.
You can't rely on luck, and you can't let the other team have a chance to beat you when the game is on the line. That's how good teams do it. You have to make the win happen. Is it nice to have luck, yeah and SOMETIMES you need it. luck will hurt you more than it helps.
Everyone likes to say that we are 4 plays away from being undefeated. They're wrong. We are 40 some bad playcalls, a poorly managed RB situation and a crap coverage scheme from being undefeated.

He's not a fan of our defensive scheme.
Is anyone?
Some people think we just need better players. While you can always apply that theory, Sam's take was that our secondary scheme is basically content to allow 5-7 yard passes with zero contention. The problem is, we've been having such bad gaps in coverage (ala Miami 1st quarter) that it's been 15-20 yard passes being completed easily. He also said our defensive gameplan against Wisconsin was bizarre because UW has the worst receiving corp in the conference, and one of the worst in the entire country, and yet we were giving them 10 yard cushions. For playing a soft zone, we're giving up a inordinate amount of PI calls.
He said what many of us have been saying, we need to play press more.
This would also help give our blitz packages more time to hit home. Make the different positions help each other out.

Ohio St. won last year running power plays out of shotgun. Funny I don't see any Spread/West Coast finesse teams winning them...
