  1. The fact that Martinez was pulled before Thenarse, Paul, Kinnie, and Burkhead shows that the coaching staff really doesn't have a clue, and not just Watson(although he's still a dick), the whole staff.

  2. I would say yes, we ran relied on the zone read way to much. I would prefer to see the base offense be the I-Formation and sprinkle in the zone read. With the I-Formation IMO you can do so much more. ISO's, blasts, traps, counters, sweeps, pitch, midline, freeze, power, counter, reverse and triple option. Amd from the passing game you have play action, boots, waggles, option passes etc. And if ran right the I-Formation is truly the only formation that makes a defense defend the hole field. They have to honor the FB, IB, QB, TE and the flats, middle, and deep field in the passing tree.

I couldn't agree more dude. Not to mention how great a quick hit with a FB lead blocking would be, with an occasional dive to the FB. The zone read offense is too slow developing.

  3. I see alot of tickets available for high number rows 80+. Just wondering how good/bad the view is from a seat like that in Memorial stadium. I imagine the atmosphere is still incredible but I don't wanna spend money on bad seats, if there even is one. And which sections should be avoided in Memorial stadium?

    I'd appreciate any input. Thanks.

  4. You guys keep mentioning the ISU game in relation to the SDSU game. I am guessing you are referring to the 2009 game where our offense was actually productive. I would compare this game more to the 1992 ISU game which had similar piss poor play against an inferior team. What is shocking is Minett was the entire offense for SDSU and he was never fully stopped.

I fear if our offense gets shut down again (and it will), and we put in Green we will have the same results. Martinez has shown he can make some throws, but he has missed some throws so badly that you can only scratch your head. Green also looked horrible throwing the ball on Saturday too.

Against K-State we have to find a way to stop the run. Thomas>Minnet. K-State O-line>SDSU O-line. I really hope the last game was an issue with focus and not respecting SDSU.

The hard reality is that Martinez is only a freshmen and Green is only a Sophomore. Up until now Taylor has played like a veteran but we had to know that a game like this was coming, and I agree that it will happen again. But the bright side is that with his struggles he managed 215 yds and still scored enough points to win. The down side is Watson really doesn't allow Taylor to develop a rhythm, so far its has been predictable and situational passing attack. Green just doesn't seem to get playing time in a manageable situation. He is always backed up in our own territory.

Don't sell Minnet too short also. I agree that Thomas is a better back on a better team but Minnet is a beast of a back. My brother played against Minnet in high school and this dude tore up teams for 200-350 yds a game(and I'm not exaggerating the stats are there). Minnet holds about every high school rushing record in Minnesota.

  5. I was waiting or someone to put this effort on Watson. It's like clockwork when something goes bad.

Could not have been because of that pathetic offensive line effort that could get zero push against a severely overmatched DL from South Dakota State. Nor could it be because we have a QB, and I use that term loosely, who has little idea of where to go with the ball when his 1st read is not open.

Nope, we couldn't run, could not we pass, and could not block - but Watson still needed to do something. :thumbs

So how many times does this need to happen before it is his problem then? One thing is for sure, he doesn't coach discipline.
