We wouldn't have taken the chance. If Bill B. would have had his choice of HC #1 on his list was, wait for it, Mack Brown. Mack Brown was hot and in his 5th year at North Carolina. That is who Byrne wanted to go after.
Mack Brown could recruit for sure. His coaching was questionable.

I never to fully enjoy Top Gun. I watched it with my father who is an ex fighter pilot... i heard "bulls#!t" a lot during the movie. Took a lot of the magic out
My father is a stickler for any movie which features the USMC.

Why would the Navy have a 60ish year old combat pilot?
Some of the technical aspects don’t vibe. A Captain (O-6) doing training exercises?

Who steps up to complement Spielman? You know what you have with Warner and the TE group.
Who else can blow the top off?

Anyone hear anything about Bo berating some umps at his son’s little league game?

The staff changes that Frank made after the 2002 season was too little too late. He should have been more proactive earlier in his tenure.
I’m curious if Bill Byrne really had the carte blanche to make the new hire without Osborne’s influence? I also wonder how interested Alvarez and Stoops were? That was a rumor that never went away.

4). Nebraska winning the conference. Bo leaves for a place where he can be lazy with recruiting and have more success. Not sure he liked the fishbowl of Lincoln.

Jackets got clobbered in FA today. Losing Duchene, Panarin and Bobrovsky. Were able to pick up Nyquist from San Jose. Overall a huge loss.

You think so?
He doesnt need to go crazy like he did with Turner.
Maybe a few runs a game? Then again what was a “bubble screen” in those days?
-
Maybe this might be better to ask after he is done here.
Does Nebraska win a national
title?

It’s time to close that chapter and focus on the new reading material.

Have to think big picture here. Where is Frost after seven seasons? Very hopeful he surpasses what Pelini did.

If the line can up to snuff some more this offense will become that much tougher to defend.

I think Treand3 nailed it.

No Nebraska coach should ever say “back” after winning a mid level bowl game.

NW wins games by letting the opposing team f up and then capitalizing on those miscues.
-
Northwestern rarely loses in Lincoln. That has to be kept in mind.

Nebraska did not make his final 8.

I use Hulu Live with my Roku.

Northwestern? It’s been a tight series.

As far as Mike Riley goes, looking back I don't have that many problems with him. He delivered exactly what his resume promised. SE didn't understand the culture and didn't have the connections or the effort to try to find the right person for the job. If you bring a stray dog into your house and it craps everywhere, it's not the dog's fault. We needed an athletic director with the vision and respect for the fan base to find the right guy.
He got rid of Bo Pelini. That was good enough.

Juergens against 4-3 fronts and Forbes/Farniok against the 3-4?
-
Riley to me was an interim hire nothing more nothing less. The university felt the same way. I feel bad for Mike as he was a pawn. He got caught in the middle of a restructuring at the administrative level.

In retrospect Cutcliffe may have been a better hire.

Say the program stayed the course with Solich. At what point would people become frustrated?
