  1. WR coming back next year

    Tariq - Fr

    Davie - So

    Turner - Soph

    Bell - Soph

    Enunwa - Jr

    Marlowe - Sr

    Cooper - Sr

As much as I would love to have Jordan, I am not worried about losing him. If he thinks he is better off in life with ND and Kelly, good luck to him (he will need it).

  2. The Dude, JJHusker, BSshirt, HuskertillIdie.......If you dont know the difference between coaching and recruiting, stop posting about college football.

You seem to be the one confused here.

inherited a decent amount of talent (look at all the NFL picks over the last 4 years).

Sure he "inherited talent", but those talented guys were far below average football players before Bo and his staff developed them and sent them to the NFL. It would appear you're the one who doesn't understand the difference.

    Take your own advice:

If you dont know the difference between coaching and recruiting, stop posting about college football.

Lol, I expected this type of reply from you..... pointless and without any substance.

First, where did i say Callahan could coach, motivate, scheme or develop players? Please, show me......dont worry, I'll wait......

Confused? Or just cant read very well?

A crowd of internet genius posters like you got the last coach who won a conference fired. Maybe you'll succeed again and bring in another "NFL guru" so we can watch NU get cremated and humiliated (over & over & over) yet again. Ten wins? Nine wins? Haha....five or six if we're lucky. We're not in a down & out BigXII North anymore so maybe two or three wins will have to do.

I never said Bo should be fired. I dont think Solich should have been fired either. Cally was a horrible hire and I knew it the moment they announced it. NFL mentality and WC offense doesnt work here. But, nice assumptions......

Hey, i may not understand or agree with some of Pelini's decisions, but I dont think he should be fired.

What I dont like is people making Pelini out to be great, or putting Pelini on TO's level by comparing their wins per year, its misleading.

Some more stats for the "Pelini is perfect and I will jump on anyone who questions him" group.....

Tom O. NEVER lost 4 games in a season. Bo has lost 4 games three seasons in a row and in danger of another, if he loses the bowl game.

TO's average losses per year: 1.96

Pelini's average losses per year: 3.75 (4.0 if he losses the bowl game)

As for the recruitng numbers Caveman posted. That was a great response to my recruiting comment. I didnt realize by the stars how close they are. Nice post, sir! +1

  3. I am really impressed with what has has been able to do with what he inherited. Keep up tue good work Bo. Recruiting is a lot better too.

pass whatever your smoking this way.....

He is not the recruiter Cally was, and he inherited a decent amount of talent (look at all the NFL picks over the last 4 years).

No matter if you support Bo or not, lets atleast be honest about it.

  4. when was the last confrence championship we won? wasnt it like '99?

    2011.

Wait - do you mean football?

ya, i am pretty sure we lost our conf in 2001, but still went on to play in the NC. I think it was 1999. I wasnt meaning anything by it, just hard to fathom we havent won sh#t since 1999.... that hurts to think about. I think this is one of the main reasons people dont want to give pelini any more time.... people have waited almost 13 years now for one, we dont have much patience left for anyone.

  5. swing.... and a huge miss. We have the money to pay for decent coaches, but I think Bo wants certain type of people (some call it "yes men") and other coaches just may not want to work with him. Certain people just cant work with other personalitis, that's just life. Hey you have to admit, Bo cant be the easiest guy to work for. Could you imagine if that dude was your boss? I dont have any personal issues against him, but I could never work for someone as passive-aggressive as he is.

As for fans talking trash about his hiring decisions? I think he brings it on himself. He has shown his distain for the fans and media several times over the years. If he would embrace the fans instead of holding them at arms reach, people wouldnt criticize him so much. A good leader, captain, boss, whatever... they all have one thing in common, they get everyone around them (bosses, employees, co-workers, other departments, etc) to buy into them and their system/decisions. They dont alienate them. They bring them into the fold, make them feel like a part of whatever it is they are trying to do. Once Bo realizes this, both the fans and the media will cut him some slack and may even defend him at times like this. Unfortunatly, Bo has this wall up when around the media and fans, which is why he takes so much heat. Learn to play the system, Bo. Bucking the system is only going to make things harder for you, as you can see. Sometimes I think Bo is his own worst enemy.

Overall, its not a horrible hire. But, I think he could have landed someone that would have had an immediate impact on coaching and recruiting. How nice would it have been to have both JP and someone like stoops, zook, etc recruiting players for us?

  6. Just remember this is playing a weak schedule in a weak conference and still getting dismantled by weak teams ( Mich, Wisky and Northwestern) How weak? I'm sure all our Bowl games will provide that information quickly. IE Wyoming

    Textbook troll post. No feeding.

Do you ever post anything constructive? Or, do you just like to point out your own narcissism? If you don’t like someone’s post or don’t agree with them, you point out grammar errors or call them a troll. It gets old.

  7. Bob Stoops has had a bunch of first time Coordinators since he has been at OU. Mangino was a 1st time OC, Mike Stoops was a first time DC, Chuck Long first time OC, Brent Venables first time DC, Josh Heupel first time OC.

No offense, but those are bad examples....

Mangino - fired and hasnt found another job. Only had one good season. Overall.... not successful

Stoops - Fired from last job, poor defense and still without a job. Success? Not sure...

Chuck Long - Was a position coach under Hayden Fry and Ferentz... then moved to OU at THE SAME position (qb coach). He was then promoted after several years. Successful? Yep, but I think he had proven himself before he got to OU (was in lead fo Iowa job after Fry left, but Ferentz couldnt say no to the money)

Venables - OU fans calling for his head and trying to run him out or town. Worst defense in Stoops era..... not successful

Hyple - Too soon to tell how successful he will be. This year was a letdown for the amount of talent that offense has. ... no successful.

  8. lol poor Iowa. Always grasping for some respect, and wondering why they never get any. Its simple, win a few national championships and win a few conf champ (outirght, not shared) and then you can demand respect. Until then, sit down and STFU! :D

  9. So today Bo reiterates his position that he "has an idea" where he's going but will release it on his timetable. When asked if he could grant a hint about when.................he replies "nope"......

I'm starting to believe this is just Bo getting some jabs in at the media and having some fun with it..................

The Media or the Fans? Bo has shown his distain for fans over the years. Wouldnt suprise me one bit if he got some sick joy out of it.

  10. Just for fun, compare those stats to the "King" of college football, Nick Saban and his last 9 years in college coaching. All were at Bama and LSU, so nobody can claim its not fair because he wasn't at top notch programs...

1831 Points total (237 less than Bo)

    in 118 games (1 less)

    15.51 PPG (1.9 less)

    24 losses (1 less)

2 years with 5 or more losses (2 more)

1 year giving up more than 300 points in 13 games (same)

For even more perspective, compare his first 4 years with Bama to Bo's first 4 years as Head Coach period:

    Bo 38-15

    Nick 43-11

That's not too shabby...of course, those 1.25 wins per year would have put a different spin on a couple of our seasons.

But, still...to be 5 games off the pace of the "pace setter" your first 4 years as a coach is nothing to shake a stick at if you ask me.

umm, Nick coahes in the SEC, not the weaker big 12. Nick also will be taking his team to two nation championship games (winning one already). Nick has also taken his team to three BCS bowls. Bo hasnt done any of these in a weaker division and weaker conference.

Bo is a decent coach, but not on the same level as Nick.

  11. If Stoops wants to come you DO NOT promote JP!!!! You give Stoops the DC and keep JP where he is. Now, you can have JP really follow Stoops around and really shadow him closely b/c I think Stoops would be gone to another HC job after 1-2 years. Then, maybe after Stoops leaves you can promote JP. I'm sure if Stoops is hired Bo will talk to JP and tell him to bide his time and learn everything he can, and I'm sure JP knows if Stoops comes in that it is a short term thing and he will have his chance soon enough. The guy is still really young!!

One would think! But, Bo never ceases to amaze us..... to say the least. :sarcasm

  12. Ostrich* If you're going to troll, the least you could do is spell the damn words correctly

It makes me laugh when people reply simply to point out typing errors. Grammar policing at its best.

And because I think some of our coaching staff is Conf-USA caliber, I am a troll? Pump that sunshine! Why is it so hard for someone to be a fan, yet not be clouded by red colored glasses?

  13. Carl gone, Cotton on his way out, Ganz and Els reported to be going with Carl, Brown may be leaving..... and some stating we wont be getting Zook, Stoops or Gill. Normally, I would be happy to see Cotton go..... but i am afraid of who Bo will hire. History tells us it will be a step back, which is scary to think about.

Does no one want to work with Bo? Is TO holding the purse strings too tightly? Why the hell cant we get a decent staff and keep it together?

You are basing alot on nothing. Carl being gone is the only legit thing about your post and the rest is being speculated without proof.

The staff Bo has put together so far cannot be judged after one year. It will take a couple

So, when I see smoke I should just cover my eyes and pretend everything is alight? Sorry, i am not an osterich.

  14. Carl gone, Cotton on his way out, Ganz and Els reported to be going with Carl, Brown may be leaving..... and some stating we wont be getting Zook, Stoops or Gill. 15. I would love to have Gill back as a QB coach. Played and coached under TO. He coached Crouch, Frost, Tommy, etc. Proven to have a kids best interest at heart, solid recruiting experience, knows what it takes to coach. He would be a home run if we can get rid of Cotton. Move Beck back to RB's and Brown back to TE (you know, when our TE's actaully did something). Plus if he stuck around, he may be good enough one day to take over for Bo, when he leaves for greener pastures.

I would love to have Stoops as a DC. If somehow we could get both, I would be in heave. But, realistically I would be happy just to land one decent coach with some decent experience at this level.
