  1. thanks kansas husker. and i heard alfonzo was already coming back next year. hope so. we could be looking at another all american first round cornerback
  2. Just a topic I have been thinking about watching our team all year. Defensively Prince is a given top 10 pick. But where do Gomes, Hagg, and Allen fit in? Does Ricky get drafted? What about offense? Would a team take a chance with Paul? What about helu and mcneil? Just seems our team has a lot of potential to make some noise in the draft. Any thoughts? I don't really follow Mel Kiper because listening to him after 10 seconds give me a headache
  3. Does anyone remember where we were at 3 years ago? Getting humiliated on National TV by USC, escaping a Ball State team who put up 40 on us, the Misery @ Missouri (41-6), being down 38-0 at HALFTIME to ok-state (homecoming by the way), another blowout loss at home to A&M, the always impressive 76 points given up to Kansas, and of course the awesome offensive performance of 51 points in boulder which wasn't to be outdone by the 65 our defense gave up. 5-7 record, 2-6 in conference play, WORST defensive unit in our schools HISTORY. Flash ahead 3 years: We are in the top 10 in the BCS, the Blackshirts are back with attitude(not PEFECT, but NOBODY is), we are the favorite to win the Big 12, recruiting a top 10 class, and having an outstanding year. Are we the 1995 team, NO, nobody will EVER be. As a born Nebraska fan, I notice that we treat out team differently when we start winning. Remember three years ago we would take a win no matter WHAT, or even a close loss thinking "hey our team played well for once, they only lost by 10 or 14." Now we are questioning the talent and fortitude of these guys whenever they don't win by a certain amount to an opponent they are favored over. I just want some thoughts on this subject because I am perfectly happy with our 9-1 record, and I feel that a win is a win, especially in conference play. Seems like NOBODY can be happy with just a win anymore. Where would you rather be, taken back 3 years to the days of just HOPING not to get blown out again? Or here in the present, in the top 10 in the BCS looking for a BCS bowl birth? For the record, I'm not calling people out here. I'm not trying to complain or cry about the subject. I just would like some thoughts on this subject. GO BIG RED!!!!!!!!
  4. We can run the ball better than ANYONE in the country. Our line is solid and our receivers can block like no other. If T-magic can't make the right read, we have Helu/Burkhead to take care of things. How do you match us against Nebraska? Try and stop the run, we will beat you deep. Try and stop the pass we will beat you on the ground. Just thoughts on how defenses will match up against us in the future. I am from North Hollywood California and I am a HUSKER 4 LIFE!! GO BIG RED BABY!!! GREAT WIN TODAY
  5. Embassy Suites and Sidetracks are my two favorite.
  6. Just wondering if we are ever going to open up the playbook now that we are in conference play. The zone read isn't going to work against everyone. Where is the play action pass downfield? The play action roll out? The counter run with Helu/Burkhead? Even the wildcat we saw against Arizona last year? Just wondering what everyone thought on our "zone read only" offense.
  7. first of all. Don't be hating on Rex. Dude is a stud. His toughness and love for the game make up for his size. ONE dropped pass from him can for forgivable. What I don't like is all the talk Paul does by saying "Give me the DAMN ball". Well today proved why we are a RUNNING team. In a game like this, where we needed receivers to step up, they didn't. Also, why do we bench Martinez and bring in Lee to run the EXACT same plays? If Lee comes in and throws I wouldn't have a problem. Watson didn't set our offense up to win, and our dropped passes are just a prime example of teams that WANT to win, and teams who know HOW to win. We still don't know HOW to win when it matters and I'm sick of coming up short in big games.
  8. I don't think Compton starts. David being leading tackler on team and having 17+ tackles in the last two games, you must keep him on the field. But this defense just added another dimension because Compton got a lot of experience last year. Glad to see he is back. GO BIG RED
