  1. I've suffered from back pain for my entire adult life. I have two degenerative discs in the lower lumbar region. I'm forever going to the chiropractor for pain relief. The adjustments do help, but it's only temporary. I also have pain in my hips and knees and I'm convince my pain is related to my back. During one of my usual sleepless nights, I saw an infomercial for the Tweeter inversion table and it peaked my intererst, thinking that maybe it will give me some relief.

I did some internet research and most of the reviews on inversion tables is very positive, but I'm thinking that has to be skewed, at least a little bit.

Any posters ever try an inversion table to relieve back/joint pain? If so, what info can you pass on to me.

  2. Season the rib however you want, Just kosher salt and fresh cracked pepper are good choices, I usually rub the rib with olive oil, rosemerry and minced garlic, then kosher salt & pepper, but trust me, cook it this way, it is PERFECT

    1.
Preheat oven to lowest possible temperature setting, 150°F or greater (some ovens can't hold a temperature below 200°F). Place roast, with fat cap up, on v-rack set in large roasting pan. Place in oven and cook until center of roast registers 120°F on an instant-read thermometer for medium-rare, or 135°F for medium. In a 150°F oven, this will take around 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 hours. In a 200°F oven, this will take 3 1/2 to 4 hours.

    2.
Remove roast from oven and tent tightly with aluminum foil. Place in a warm spot in the kitchen and allow to rest for at least 30 minutes, and up to an hour and a half. Meanwhile, preheat oven to highest possible temperature setting (500°F to 550°F)

    3.
10 minutes before guests are ready to be served, remove foil, and place roast back in hot oven and cook until well-browned and crisp on the exterior, 6-10 minutes. Remove from oven, carve, and serve immediately.

  3. Not visiting anymore this weekend. Looks like an academic issue.

    Aw man..

You've got to be pooping me??!! What in the hell is up? Is it on his end or our stupid academic department at the University? Does every other University's academic dept screw up as much as ours??

It's not like we're Harvard or Stanford. How many recruits have we lost (football, bball) in last 3-4 years b/c of problems in our own academic dept?

    Here's the rule.

"College coaches need to have an official ACT or SAT score and a copy of your official high school transcript before you can make a visit."

Evidently, UNL doesn't have either or both.

Next time, do yourself and everyone else a favor and take a few minutes and research things before you raise all kinds of hell. Besides, its only Doc Sadler who gets screwed by the academic department. ;)

  4. Martinez is not an option QB. Period. To successfully sell the option, the QB MUST step into the pursuit and make them commit to either QB or RB. Martinez is not built physically nor mentally to take the beating that would be required to establish a true option. An option QB gets hit almost every play. Look at how he runs in the open field, ie slows down and stands up to get hit, no cuts or moves, just straight ahead blazing speed. He is a threat, but not as an option QB.

I cannot remember the game that Carnes actually played and he stepped right into the LB and pitched. This is what makes the option. An attacking QB who forces the D to commit. Martinez, instead of going straight down the line or angled towards the D, he drifts back towards the RB, this allows the D to close and get a good enough angle that both guys get stuffed.

If you really want the option, it won't be run with Martinez. Maybe a play or two or three, but not enough to make DC's worry about it. Martinez is becoming better, no reason to try an make him something he is not.

    ^^^^ THIS +10000

  5. What does Mike Stoops bring to the table? Is he the recruiter/closer that we really need? Or is coaching his forte' and he will design a better defense to get us out of the two-gap, no pressure on the QB defense and into an attack the QB one? Is he both? If he's both, HIRE HIM NOW!!

Someone enlighten me on this guy!

  6. Lo, how many games do you think we could have legitimately put in our backups in the last four years? Specifically, which position and which game(s) should "the backup" have played?

It's all well and good to rant that we're not playing the backups. Personally, I think Carnes should have seen time in the fourth quarter against Iowa last Friday, but even then, all it took was one pick-six and it's a one-possession game.

To get the backups reps, you're going to have to find games where we were comfortably ahead, not still learning a new offense/defense, and/or had a starter with enough experience that you could unequivocally say that he knows what he needs to know, and can watch the rest of the game.

I can't think of more than two or three games, and none in the past two years, that fit this criteria. Can you? What about the rest of the Bo Pelini era?

How dare you bring logic to a message board??

    GREAT POST

  7. In looking at these numbers, someone has to convince me why Brandon Kinnie plays so much. Rich Fisher is supposedly all about results. Check out this quote from the LJS when Fisher spoke at the weekly Big Red Breakfast on Nov 4th,

"They understand that if you're going to play for me, you're going to make sure that whether it be in the meeting room, or the practice field, or in the game, that there is a certain standard of excellence that we're looking for. And if you fall below that standard, then somebody else who is doing that standard is going to be playing a little bit more. That's just the nature of the beast. The great thing is that our room right now is a revolving door of competition. There's not one guy right now who feels like 'I'm the guy, I've arrived, this is my spot.'" - WR coach Rich Fisher

So BK dropping basically half of the passes that he catches (11 drops, 20 receptions) meets the 'certain stander of excellence that we're looking for???? BK's not the best blocker on the team either(that would be Quincy Enuwa by far), so WHY does he get a majority of the snaps????

I would really like for some of the coaches on both sides of the ball to explain why some guys who aren't producing are still playing major minutes.

  8. Ben Cotton, really?? I've seen this guy have more "look out" blocks than almost anyone on the team, especially early in the season. Get Kyler Reed off the milk carton and into the game. Coaches have been saying the Reed is a match up problem for every team on our schedule any yet, he barely gets any passes thrown his way.

  9. I honestly wonder if Graham Spanier really knew about what was going on at Penn State all this time.

Do you really think he would have spear-headed Nebraska joining the Big 10 if he knew all this? He had to have known that this kind of scandal would not only rock Penn State, but the conference as a whole.

Really makes me wonder, what say you?

  10. I thought our defensive coaches were too slow to bring our safeties up, closer to the line of scrimmage to stop their running attack.

Rex Burkhead is tired and beat up.

Today was the first time we really missed Jared Crick on the defensive line. Justin freaking Jackson played today and they recently moved him from DL to OL

I thought Bo did a terrible job using (or not using his timeouts) to save more time at the end of both half's.

T Martinez's completion percentage was good, but he still made a bunch of bad throws a few that could have been intercepted, one for a pick six.

In trying not to get hurt, Taylor's going to get hurt when he slows down into contact,

Lance Thorell very simply is terrible and got beat all day long. There has to be someone better than Loomis to play that Peso position. GOD, we miss Hagg and Gomes!!

The team very simply, took Northwestern lightly.

  11. ARod did play well against Michigan State, probably his best game of the season. However, if you watch the replay, he consistently lines up back a foot or so compared to the other linemen when he's going to pull. The TV commentators noticed it and I'll be our future opponents will too! Barney and Stai and the other coaches need to get this corrected.

  12. I'm a Husker fan, but I will call a spade a spade. I don't wear rose colored glasses, if I see something I don't like, I voice my concerns/opinions. If being a 'true' Husker fan means you can't criticize the choices made by the players or coaches, then nope, I'm not one and honestly don't want to be one.

  13. Here are my keys

    1. Win the battle on 3rd down on both sides of the ball

    2. Be at least even on turnover margin

    3. Limit big plays and get some ourselves.

    4. Block and tackle better than your opponent

    5. Get a break to go our way

Yeah, I know, real cutting edge stuff, but with two very evenly matched teams, it'll come down to fundamentals.

  14. From my usually credible source;

Coaches are confident we can move the ball against Wiscy. Look for a mixture of attacking the edges and downhill power, and heavy PA and motion in the passing game. Lots of new stuff in the playbook this week including triple stacked WR's. Also have a variety of gadget plays and a newer set with Rex at FB and Abdullah/Green at IB. Other O details ommitted. Expect Kyler to come into play more as coaches don't feel Wiscy has a LB or Safety that can hang with him. They want to hit a big play early. On D expect pressure early and often, a variety of new blitz packages and supposedley more blitzing than we have ever seen in the Pelini era. I don't want to go into detail on the rest of the D stuff in case the wrong people are reading this. Let me just say that the game plan I am now seeing is a far cry from the first 4 games. If our guys can execute the plan, Husker fans should be extremely happy.

Your credible source must not be very secretive because I got this same email from 4 or 5 different people since 4pm Friday. LOL.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE IT and hope half of it comes out to be true during the game tonight. GBR.

  15. Milt Tenopir was on Huskers Illustrated radio on Friday talking offensive line. Here are some of the highlights:

Milt likes the o-line this year.

He talked highly of the way that Barney and Tim Beck worked together over the summer to set the offense.

Milt believes that simplifying the offense will be big dividends this season, he even used the word 'dominant' several times.

He likes Yoshi and Marcel Jones alot.

He also said that Jake Long was working with the 1's and 2's, but I'm thinking that was due to injuries.

He said that the offense will do less straight drop back passing, more two back backfields and less plays out of the shotgun.

  16. I'm really stoked about Warfield working with the players. This guy was a pretty solid player during his time on the team, but I was shocked that he played so long in the league. I think he's a perfect example of what hard work and determination can do for a player. Great addition to the staff that's already pretty solid from top to bottom.
