  1.

Okafor, Mendoza, Ward, and Middleton are showing up on the 2011 rosters on both Huskers.com and Huskermax.com. Wheres this 105 roster that you're looking at? Am I missing something here lol???

Also I noticed that Curenski Gilleylen is listed at IB instead of WR. Does this surprise me? Yes and No. Yes mainly because he's been with the WR's for years and knows the routes plus his speed but No because he's had horrible hands and his speed could help us in the depth with the running backs.

This has also been verified by Brian Rosenthal of the LJS

Other notes from Saturday’s first practice:

-- Bo Pelini seemed upbeat and pleased, particularly with what he saw from the offense.

“The tempo was great today, the communication was really good,” Pelini said. “Obviously, having the time together and installing it through the spring … I think the players did a good job of continuing their learning and getting comfortable with the offense in the summer time. They do that on their own, and I think that showed today.”

-- Collins Okafor, Lester Ward, Marcus Mendoza and Lazarri Middleton are scholarship players not on the 105-man roster.

And Curenski moved in the spring

Damn thanks for posting that article I can't read any articles that are linked on Huskermax because my work blocks it but they don't block Facebook....retarded.

Doesn't surprise me about Okafor because didn't he leave the team last year but to join the team 2 days later or something like that? Also Mendoza has been shuffled around from position to position more than a hooker in a week LOL. Besides when you have freshman coming in like Heard, Green, and Abdullah while newcomers like Ty Kildow and Zack Taylor shined at the spring game its hard to get any reps.

If you ask me, guys like Okafor and Lester have had more than enough time to establish themselves on this team. If they haven't done it yet, and considering they are off the 105 man roster, it doesn't look like they ever will. It might be pass time to fish or cut bait. Cut the bait and move on.

  2. I need to create a website for our youth baseball association. I've looked on line and I'm looking at usine eteamz.com to build the site. They have all the extras we need (ability to sell advertising)if I go with the extra package. The cost is $4.50 per month.

Anyone have any experience building a website with eteamz.com or maybe using another site?

Any help you have would be appreciated.

    Thanks

  3. I just looked at the numbers from KU's 12-1 team stats for 2007. The Jayhawks ran for 188 yards per game and passed for over 290, however they ran is more times (512 rushes vs 476 passes) than they threw it. Assuming Martinez is going to be the starting quarterback, I simply cannot see Beck trying to duplicate that run/pass ratio.

Beck is simply too smart to try to pound a round peg into a square hole. He's going to take 100% advantage of the talent that is already in place and he's going to come up with an offensive scheme that utilizes that talent to win games.

With the Pelini brothers calling the shots on defense, we don't need to put up 500+ yards to win games. We just need to be able to move the ball consistently and not turn the ball over.

  4. I absolutely LOVE the concept of two offensive line coaches. However, I think if offense gains a true identity, that will help the offensive line immensely and we should see improvement next season.

The true benefit of having two coaches will in 2012 and beyond. With this past year's recruiting class being stocked with so many STUD offensive linemen, we now have two sets of eyes on every snap in practice and in games. Starting with the first practice in March, we can have two stations of o-line practice going on simultaneously, that way the kids get basically twice as many reps at practice than last year. This 'extra' practice time will develop more depth faster. I believe moving to the two OL coaches, more than anything else, will re-establish the Pipeline at Nebraska.

  5. I've known Ryne since I coached his 8 & under baseball team 10 years or so ago. I could tell back then that if he got as big as I expected, he'd be a major D-1 football player. He's got great feet and he's actually pretty nimble for his size. He finishes blocks better than anyone I've seen in years of watching Nebraska high school football. Considering he played his senior season with two bum shoulders and went both ways the entire season his toughness is unquestionable. Add to the fact that Ryne is a great young man and a gold honor roll student.

I expect big things out of Ryne Reeves in the future as a Husker.

  6. I was told this morning that Watson, Sanders, and Gilmore are all out. It was supposed to go down tomorrow but this announcement from Indiana totally screwed things. I was also told that Beck and Scott Frost could potentially be our new co-offensive coordinators. I realize most of you wont trust a random unknown poster like me but thats what I was told.

+2 We must have the same source

  7. just saw this.

According to FoxSports.com, parking lots close to Cowboys stadium are charging almost $1000 for spots while hotels are quadrupling their regular rates. At an eye-watering $990, ParkWhiz priced a reserved place in its lot at more than $850 above the stadium's official parking fee.

  8. For S&G, I got on the net and looked up hotel rates of the LaQuinta Inn for the Super Bowl weekend. We stayed at same hotel for the Big 12 Championship game. We paid $119 per night then, those same rooms right now are going for $549 a night. I realize its the Super Bowl and all that, but holy crap that's a snot-ton of money, and that doesn't include the price of a ticket, which will run you is averaging $3,500 per ticket on SubHub Unless I win the lottery or I have a long, lost rich relative that remembers me in his will, I'm going cross attending a Super Bowl off my bucket list.

  9. My wife had a bit of a crush on Brook and one day while she was working at her father's Dairy Queen in Crete, Brook walked in one day to get something to eat while taking a break from pheasant hunting. She saw him get out of his vehicle and ran to the back of the DQ to check her make up. While applying some, she said to the other girls, "If anyone but me waits on him, they are fired!"

  10. Yusef Wade is worth a mention in this thread. He is the co-Scout Team offensive player of the year, along with Kenny Bell. Props to Yusef. He is a walk-on from North Star.

Wade came in as a safety, correct? Interesting he'd win co-offensive POY. As a WR, I assume?

nope, actually he's a running back and I heard he could be 3rd team I-back going into Spring ball.

  11. My first Husker game was the 1978 game when T.O. got the gorilla off his back by beating the Sooners 17-14. My only regret was we missed the Ruud hit on Phelps. Me and my cousin left our seats (in the endzone where the hit occurred) to see the team walk under the stadium and into the locker room at halftime. Forgive me, I was 11 years old.

After the game, my grandfather gave me my first beer and the rest, as they say, is history. I've been a beer drinking, Husker fan ever since.

  12. I'm really high on this kid and hope he commits and is OK academically. I think we need to get the chant started when he is here. POOOOOOOOOLE! He can follow in the footsteps of the RUUUUUUDs, and SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUH! His tape looks great and I too think this an under the radar kid, and also cannot figure it out.

I would imagine that he's got academic issues, otherwise his list of offers would be off the charts. I'll bet he commits after his visit, but will he qualify to enroll next year??? Who knows?

  13. I think this kid is destined to played that stand-up defensive end/linebacker position that Cam-stache has been playing for the last couple of weeks. He's got the size, motor and the attitude that I really like. A year with Dobson to pack on a few more pounds and build up that speed, then LOOK OUT. I've got high hopes for this kid.

    Welcome aboard, Max.

  14. Uh....I thought it was a brilliant idea...they just didn't fully execute...hats off to them...they ISU played a great game. This is all opinionated...BUT...I thought it was a great call by Rhoades....

    times 2

  15. Steele also has Texas in the Holiday Bowl, do you think they'll be eligible? They are at K-State and have Florida Atlantic, Okie State and Texas A&M left on the schedule. The way the Horns are playing, those 3 conference games are toss-ups at best, they'll be FAU, but they need at least 1 more win to get bowl eligible and would the Holiday Bowl take 5 loss Texas team? I doubt it.

  16. The Mizzou fan behind us kept saying 'if' all day. If this, if that, then he said something to the fact that if it wasn't for those 3 long runs, Mizzou held Helu pretty much in check. That was the last straw, so I dropped, 'if my aunt Denise had a set of balls, she'd be my uncle Dennis.'

Everyone in my section busted out laughing and we didn't hear another word from the Mizzou fan for the rest of the game.
