  1. I would think he would be concerned about going to Arkansas and probably ending up at a school where there will be NCAA sanctions. It is no secret that Petrino is a snake and will eventually end up with his head on a chopping block. AND NEVER wish he would go to Mizzou....Mizzou fans hate the Huskers and show us no respect. At least Bama and Sooners are on even ground with the Huskers as far as respect.

  2. I hope he sees us for what we are...one of the premier defensive coaching groups in the NCAA. He can't go wrong. I do not think he will choose us. Which is too bad for him. Will cost him lots of money in the NFL. If he goes another direction, I will wish him the best.......

  3. You are correct. I just looked it up. The bottom line is that while fans (and I believe alumni) are not by definition considered to be boosters, they turn into a booster the moment they contact a recruit and act as a school's representative by trying to influence the recruit to attend that school.

The NCAA prohibits boosters from contacting recruits, and this includes all manner of electronic communication.

  4. I don't think it would be a recruiting violation to have Suh support him in whatever decision he makes. Although I'm not sure. It would seem like it would be the same as a recruit calling other recruits. As long as Suh is not being compensated?? I really don't know though.

  5. Will be a great atmosphere. Win or lose....he should see Memorial at it's best. Hard to turn down an Alabama and their defense, but high schoolers should see what kind of results Husker coaching can attain--an NFL contract for the players with the skills, the attitude, and the work ethics to make it happen.

  6. Probably a combination of both. I really do not blame a kid for "reserving a spot", but keeping options open in case of NCAA problems. No "commit" is truly a "commit" until they sign in February. Ultimately kids need to do what they think is best for their future, both academically and for football reasons. Whether they decide the summer before their senior year, or February 1, they gotta do what they gotta do. I just appreciate kids being honest with all schools and letting them know they are still lookin a bit. Nothing wrong with that.

  7. Be careful about counting him out or questioning his reasoning. In July, several of the coaches take a bit of time off...maybe it was a mutual postponement to try and get him here for an official trip the first part of September on a game day. Fresno State would be a good one...night game and lots of excitement in the air.

  8. This could very well end up being a great class. It could easily play out something like this... with one 5*, eleven 4*, and five 3*. Not too shabby...

    OL Andrus Peat 5* Rivals

    WR Jordan Westerkamp 4* Scout

    LB Michael Rose 4* Scout

    OL Paul Thurston 4* Rivals

    DE Greg McMullen 4* Rivals

    DT Vincent Valentine 4* Scout

    DE Taiwan Johnson 4* Scout

    QB Devin Fuller 4* Rivals

    WR Monty Madaris 4* Scout

    LB Quanzell Lambert 4* Rivals

    DB Jordan Diggs 4* Rivals

    DB Brandon Beaver 4* Rivals

    DB Tyreece Jiles 3* Rivals

    OL Mike Shoff 3* Rivals

LB Joe Robinson 3* Rivals (5.7 so almost 4*)

    TE Sam Cotton 3* Rivals

    TE Orlando David 3* Rivals

Seems a bit over optomistic to me....Hope you are right though....If we can get classes with a majority of 4 star talent, combined with our walk on kids who will PUSH every one of our top recruits...booting a few out of their starting line ups, we have a great chance to be back up there in top 5 land year after year.

  9. All we can do is introduce him to Husker Nation and let him know he will have a chance to compete! The Pelinis will get him ready to compete in the next level however. No matter which way he decides to go, Husker fans wish him well.....

  10. Did anyone else notice some of the results from the testing results for Niles and Roy. Roy did really well--I would guess in the top 25% of the running backs for the 40 time and the vertical jump. Niles---not so much. The one result I saw for the shuttle run had him last. I wonder if he has just gotten too big and if this shows a reason why he did not have a good year this year?

  11. I will have to say I'm a bit concerned that TMart will be able to recognize defenses and call many audibles this year. I just don't see it. Hope I'm wrong. That may end up being one of the deciding factor about who ends up our QB this year---a combination of athletic ability and "smarts".

  12. With the new OC and what appears to be a great offensive line class, skies the limit in a couple of years. I really like the fact that Barney has some help with the OLine too. Not sure what happened to that part of the offense the latter part of 2010, but we sure need some help. Hopefully, we'll see a much improved OLine this year and a stellar one in two years.

  13. I am sure hoping that we end up with an offense that can adjust during the game about half as well as the defense can. That is one thing the Pelinis can do that Callahan absolutely could not....if we were behind at the half under Callahan....turn out the lights..the party was likely over. Not true with Bo. Bo can coach. He has picked coaches with a similar philosophy. I just think Watson had some sort of a game plan an could not see the forest for the trees when it started going bad.......I'm excited about this spring and next fall. Even though we have one helluva tough schedule, absolutely cannot wait. OH...and btw...kudos to Doc's team for beating the mighty Longhorns...something our football team couldn't do...lol...

  14. I am certainly glad to hear that we are going to a "thinner playbook". That seemed to be one of the biggest issues we had under our former OC. It took till you were a junior or a senior to be able to fully utilize the offense. I think this was a big factor in CG not developing---he was trying to "play the playbook" instead of just going out there and "playing football".
