  1. I think TO knows he didnt do much better in his first 4 years and inherited a much better program(and he didnt have to make wholesale changes like Bo did) he also knows that a better (established) coach wont come here. I don't think it's an apples to apples comparison when you look at TO's early years in the 1970s vs now. If you really wanna look at the stats, TO won 3 of his first 4 bowl games, and also finished ranked inside the top 12 at the end of the season from 1973 to 1989. The game is totally different, and recruiting is much more competitive now. I'm just afraid that a few more seasons of beating up on easier competition and losing the "big ones" will solidify NU's reputation as a good but not great program. If the main reason Bo's teams have lost the big games is due to a lack of execution, why exactly do other teams execute and his teams cannot? Is it lack of game preparation? Lack of mental toughness? Or are the players he recruited just not at the same level? it also took him 9 years to win a conf title outright.... its not an apples to apples, but it is something to keep in mind. its also good to remember that he was better than 99.9% of coaches. True, but I still think TO's earlier years were much more disciplined and consistent than what we've seen from Pelini. I don't believe people were questioning which Nebraska team would show up each week. The bottom line is that Nebraska now has a more difficult road to winning a conference championship that TO did early on, and in order to win the championships that Bo preaches, we have to have a top-notch coaching staff across the board to get there.
  2. I can only think of one name I'd feel good about, if Bo were to go. Chris Peterson. Yep, I just said the same thing a few minutes ago. I completely agree he would be the only candidate out there worth conducting a coaching change immediately. I honestly don't think TO will do it though.

  4. I completely agree with what most are saying in this thread. As Bo states himself, football is about winning championships and showing signs of growth. I feel Bo's team peaked in 2009 and it's taken a step back since. This is more disturbing since this year's team should consist of all the guys he has been able to recruit and develop (along with all his coaching hires). If Husker fans are ok with 8 or 9 wins per season and going to a decent (non-BCS) bowl every year, I think Bo will fit the bill. I personally think Osborne should recognize Bo for turning this program around to being respectable again, but then seeking out a better coach/executive to take this program to the level that I think all Husker fans would like. However, that would require finding a coach that would be a great fit for Nebraska. The one coach that comes to mind is Chris Petersen from Boise. Given his track record, I think he could jump right in and make an impact without having any players or recruits leaving the program.
  5. How about Can you feel it? That song always gets the crowd and players pumped up!
  6. Yeah, I kind of feel like us joking about it is ok since he's on our team. I guess I need to realize they are just young kids that were excited they were beating a ranked opponent on the road.
  7. I'm not sure if anyone else at the game noticed this, but in the 4th quarter when Taylor was marching the team down the field, the 4 Northwester kickers/specialists continued to mock Taylor's throwing motion. I know Martinez doesn't have the best mechanics, but I thought it showed a considerable lack of taste on the part of an opposing team. On a side note, I have to say this was the best I've seen Taylor play, ever. He was making good ball fakes, nearly all his throws were on target, he didn't put the ball on the ground, and I thought all around played about as good as he could have. I've never seen him more accurate with his throws in any other game, including the OK state game last year.
  8. Hey all-I'm not on Huskerboard tons but posted a thread this morning and it appears it's been deleted. I was very civil throughout the post despite being called an idiot, clueless, and not smart by a couple of guys on here and am curious who deletes such threads and why. Any thoughts are appreciated.
  9. What does he do, kiss ass to Dirk until he decides to write another bullsh#t article to get page hits? As a head coach he needs to take the high road. Defuse the siutation. Move on. If you feel it needs to be addressed do it in private. Personally I don't want to see a spat. I want to hear about the game. The media is the link between the head coach and the outside world. Creating enemies with the media is not wise. Hey Flatwaterfan-I completely agree with what you stated...I actually said something similar in another post and got lambasted for it. It would have been far better for Bo just to ignore reporters he's upset with than instigate a spat during the post-game press conference of a great comeback.
  10. Wow your wife was a flight attendant for the team. Aint you special. Anyone ever tell you youre an idiot.? Now, if you had any clue what was going on you wouldve noticed Bo treated most media in the room very well. He singled out one man. Dirk the doosh. He's always been a doosh. He alway will be a doosh. Sometimes I wonder if he aint been raped by a group a Nebraska footballs at one point or another. We might as well have Doug Gottlieb writing for the Herald. Bo called him out, cited a specific article, and basically did what Mike Gundy did a few years back, only fewer words and more SELF CONTROL. So in other words, get off his a$$ and let our coach be our coach. If not, move to New York and kiss Callahans toes or go to Pittsburgh and hang with Petersen. Ok, so now I've been told I'm clueless, not smart, and am an idiot. Really? Now, to the 3rd point in my original post, I clearly issued a disclaimer stating I was not on the flight home with the team. Also, to "accountability," if you read my post, I never stated my wife was a flight attendant. She was on a plane the day after the game with the flight crew who solely travels with the team on road trips. Some passengers on the flight were casually talking to the crew about how the team was doing, and here is what was learned. a. The team travels with the same Delta crew to every game b. The team didn't arrive back in Lincoln until super late (like 3 or 4 in the morning). c. They had never seen the team so quiet after a game. Nobody would talk. d. Bo told the team that he might as well start all freshman if they were going to play like that e. As stated previously, Bo had a run in with security at the airport. Again, I did not fly home with the team and cannot say for certain they fly with the same crew, fly Delta, and were quiet on the flight home from Madison, but I really don't know what incentive someone would have to lie about those details. Additionally, after last year's A&M game, I was highly supportive of Bo and down on Perlman for calling Bo out publicly. I didn't think it was in good taste for Perlman to make this a national issue. With that said, I still stick to my original point that Bo needs to either show more respect when dealing with us fans or the media, or simply avoid the situation all together. We all have a right to question his team's performance this year or any year, and had OSU's QB not gotten injured, we most likely would have lost yesterday's game. He's supposed to be a defensive genius, but we've given up more than 25 points a game in four of six games this year. Last season the team gave up 25+ points only twice (including the post-season). After weeks 1, 2, and 3, Bo claimed he knew how to fix the defense, but I'm still waiting for him to do that. Of course, I probably shouldn't have stated my disappointment with Bo's results on defense this year as I'm probably just clueless, not smart, and an idiot.
  11. I agree with your comment on the 3rd bullet which is why I disclaimed the source. With that said, the first two bullets are my views based upon what I observed leading up to the game, during the game, and after the game. I don't mind those who respectfully disagree on here, so thanks for being respectful!
  12. And you say that because? I'm clueless to what your view really is. I don't think you're smart enough to understand. C'mon man, really? Just because you aren't capable of providing a supported rebuttal doesn't mean it's ok to make one-line derogatory attacks. I'm just as big a fan as you and was posting my thoughts. Despite graduating number from from my class and having a post-graduate degree, I would never come on this site or any other and attack someone else's intellect.
  13. Bo had a right to be upset at some of the questions from the presser. Media and fans attacked Martinez after Wisconsin, which you have to realize is Bo's starting QB, Bo has his back and even when its against the people that are suppose to be supportive. It wasn't a small percentage of people that have been attacking him. It was pretty obvious that Bo answered questions to the best of his ability last night, but if you read some of the articles circulating around about the team and such, it makes his job hard to keep the players on the course and unrattled by incriminating questions about whether Martinez should be the QB or not. I totally get Bo supporting his players, but if I were him, I would have his players not even read the stories if he feels the players can't handle it. It's that simple.
  14. And you say that because? I'm clueless to what your view really is.
  15. First and foremost, I'm proud of our team for hanging in there and making a great comeback. Way to go big red. Now, regarding Bo, I've been highly supportive of Bo since he arrived at NU, and he's had good results no doubt. However, I really think TO needs to talk to Bo about showing some maturity. Here are just a few thoughts: 1. His team just had the biggest comeback in history, and in last night's presser, he was angry as hell. The press has a job to do, and sometimes they will question a coach's decision making or the direction of the program. That is their job. Meanwhile, Bo has a job to show some respect and rise above any anger he has, or if he's that ticked off, just don't do a presser. 2. If a few fans booed last night, who cares. I was at the game, and from what I can tell, people weren't booing Martinez but rather the play call just before half. And, I could barely hear any boos. Overall, the fans played a big role in getting the Huskers pumped up in the 2nd half, and Bo doesn't need to act as though Nebraska fans are not supportive. To the contrary, he should have been praising the 85,000 plus who hung around in the 2nd half in the pouring rain when their team was down 27-6. Just like with a few bad reporters, Bo has a problem generalizing that all fans are out for his team when its a small percent who were heard before halftime. 3. I posted this a couple days ago and have some more detail to share. And again, I'm not trying to stir up trouble here, but here it goes. My wife left on a Delta flight last Sunday to Minneapolis. Her flight crew was the same that had the Huskers the night before after the Wisconsin loss (apparently they have the same crew all season). Anyway, at the airport the team normally does not have to go through security, but some airports still require it. In Madison the team had to go through security, and when Bo's bags were getting checked, he started yelling at the security officers including use of some profanity. I am NOT trying to spread rumors and would never post if this didn't seem legit, but assuming it happened, it's another example of Bo showing complete disrespect and a lack of maturity in front of his team. In general, I know Bo likes to make his team feel like the whole world is out to get them, but they/we are not. I go to just about every single game, and most fans are supportive up until the end. You are always going to have some negative blogging and articles written about you, but Bo needs to realize that sentiment does not represent the majority.
