  1. Currently working through the The Blacklist (season 3 or so) i like it

Also watching TideLanders with my GF. Lots of pretty people getting naked, and a decent plot . Good so far

Good Girls was enjoyable too. Looking forward to season 2

Enjoyed the first season of You

Tried to watch Russian Doll. Made it 3 episodes and could do it

GF is into Jason Momoa {of course} and i liked him in G.O.T etc. , but couldn't do Frontier. 3 episodes of dark and boring was enough for us.

Good lord what a tangled web Abducted in Plain sight was! crazy but a good watch.

  2. Thats a cool quiz and fairly accurate. I would have had Biden higher and Trump not on there at all though. lol

It isn’t really. It’s just covering HS aged kids. Probably makes more sense for smaller schools  like the one I graduated from where we only had like 20 girls total in HS.

When i first read it , I was thinking more strange in its nature, than uncommon. It is a tricky , complex issue though and lines need to be drawn to prevent exploitation/abuse.

To me 14 year olds are pretty young to be having sex with anyone but they do, and two young kids getting together shouldn't be a criminal offense. The difference between an 18 year old and 17 year old though is no big deal IMO and shouldn't be a criminal thing,  An 18 year old and a 14 year old isn't good, but  i'm not sure how "criminal" it should be considered. After further thought those laws do a pretty good job of covering things.

  4. When i was married and had 3 kids in the house we had tons of towels. Now its just me i have less.

Another question would be how many towels do you need to take a shower/bath??

My oldest daughter used 3 every time. One to wrap her hair, one to step out onto, and one to dry with. and none were hung up to re-use.ugh

I use one and hang up to dry for reuse a few times.

Lol and women with the wash cloths ? idk whats up with that .

Bingo.   The quote wasn't from a Dem candidate as you so WISELY  noted.

I'm not as concerned about UHC --  as I think that will be a given and eventually be workable in the future based on the trajectory we are on now.  I think conservatives need to face that new reality and plan policies that will work with that in mind and work with those on the other side to make it workable.  My concern is what follows afterwards.   What other sectors of our economy will be in the conversation for moving from the private sector to the public?   The rhetoric by Warren and others have escalated to the point of out running the rest of the country.

The quote is from a Bloomberg article.

I'm not well read on Venezuela but i wonder if they ever did have a booming economy, and stability for their citizens? Seems to me they've always been more of a poverty stricken country with a corrupt government? I wonder how many of their problems were actually caused by "socialism".

I just read California's statutory rape law and I find it weird as hell.  Here in Oregon, we have the Romeo and Juliet law.  It states minors within three years of age can legally have sex with each other.  It's legal for a 17 year old to get naughty with a 14  year old.  Of course, that all changes when a person turns 18.  18 year olds who are caught having sex with 17 year olds or younger will find themselves on the state sex offender registry.

In California, it is absolutely illegal for anybody to consent to sex until they are 18.  Of course, all involved would be charged for non-consensual sex so I'm sure people don't press charges too often.  But with that said, I'm sure a lot of parents get notified when the apple's of their eye get caught in the back seat of someone's hatchback.

As a father of 2 daughters I would have been much more accepting of the Second example than the first . That is a strange law .

  7. I can do just about all of it . I started breaking  the concrete to rough in plumbing for my basement bathroom this week . I’ll plumb it, wire it, install fixtures, tile the floor, drywall , hang doors and trim everything myself . Not great at drywall tape/mud or hanging doors, so those I’m dreading,  otherwise no problem . Next step would be laying carpet in the bedroom area , and adding a kitchen area down there .

  8. This was brought up in another thread, and i wanted to discuss it more. To me , this country being 22 trillion in debt, is a much bigger issue than many of the ones the current administration is focused on, and it used to be talked about a lot. Not so much any more. Id like to hear some thoughts on a few things.

    1. Is there any realistic chance to pay it off ?

    2. Opinions on how to accomplish that?

    3. What happens if we don't pay it off?

So, you've worked in places where hundreds of Irish, Italians and Asians have immigrated to work and those places did nothing to accommodate them.

You have a very interesting life working experience.

When I started at my job it was 100% English speaking people no matter their ethnicity . When the Hispanics came in it changed yes

Is someone forcing you to learn other languages to accommodate these "many illegal" people?

actually yes. if Pedro refuses to speak English he doesn't have to do the required tasks that i do, and .Its dangerous in many cases to have that happen , I am required to figure out what they are saying, or get an interpreter. a huge waste of time .

I have a very hard time believing that.  So, you have hundreds of people in your work place that can speak English, but your employer chooses to do things in Spanish because they don't want to speak English.  I find that hard to believe.

But...let's assume you are right and I'm assuming you work in the private sector.  Isn't that the prerogative of the employer?  They don't have to do that.  There isn't any regulation or governmental requirement that they do that.  I have a good friend who owns a business and they employ immigrants.  I've been there and seen signs around in both English and Spanish.  I fail to see what the issue is?

Are you advocating governmental regulations against private sector business's doing this?  I thought conservatives were against government meddling in our private businesses.

Also, I have a brother who owns a business in Baton Rouge.  I have been in his shop working with everyone around me speaking the Cajun dialect that I don't know.  I know they can speak English, because when they come to me, they speak it.  Where is the outrage about that?

Not at all tho i still don't think it right we make exceptions for hispanics where we didn't for other groups. I am also no where near a conservative. That agenda offers me nothing i care about

  12. As with many other issues extreme views are the problem IMO.  I like to shoot guns and do some hunting, but i have no NEED for a gun in my everyday life. Do i think everyone should have a gun? Nope i think we should definitely limit who can have one , and what kind depending on the circumstances. Do i think we should outlaw guns altogether? Nope on that one either, its a fundamental right provided by the constitution within limits. I think sensible middle ground could be found to keep guns out of the hands of people who shouldn't have them , but i don't have much faith people on extreme ends of this issue will come together and make it happen.

If there were 10s of millions of German speaking people in the USA, then a lot of things would also be written in German.  The only reason things are in English is because it's the "predominate" language.  Consider yourself lucky that you can communicate in 99% of locations in the in the USA.

yeah except for my place of employment where i have to train and work with hundreds of people who can speak the language but would rather not.

So, please explain why having a driving test in Spanish affects you?

It doesn't have to affect me for me to have an opinion on it, just as much of this doesn't affect you either but you still have your opinion.  why do hispanics deserve to have things changed here to suit them when no other ethnic group has?

Then I’m confused at the point you were trying to make just a few posts back :dunno

The original topic was about the wall and i made my point about that in one post. Discussion went into Hispanics , and illegal immigration i posted some of my thoughts on that too. Then someone brought up assimilation which i think Hispanics should have to do, the same way every other ethnic group has, including learning the language. It then spun into Indians , Amish, dutch, indians whatever, that i don't care about.
