  1. The amount of compensation one receives, and how valuable their contribution to society is, is very out of whack in my opinion . School teachers, social workers, military people , cops, etc are highly skilled/educated and perform very valuable services to millions of people, but aren't compensated accordingly. Kylie Jenner looks good in her underwear and is a billionaire, Singers sing a (kinda) good song or two and make millions, and others are born into money and make no contribution to society, and have no skills, (Kardashians, Paris Hilton etc) but have millions too. I don't think anyone is saying everyone should be compensated the same, but the disparity between what one does/skill set and value to society, vs compensation level is way off.

Frankly as an employee I'd love to not have it tied to a specific workplace, just like I'd love to not have my 401k account tied to a specific workplace.  I am glad for the benefits because its how things are done now, but I'd be just as happy having my salary bumped up to match the cost of those benefits and paying taxes for healthcare and not having to deal with insurance companies.  I'm not naive enough to think employers enjoy dealing with it, but it does tie people to jobs when they might otherwise move to better jobs, because it's a gamble to lose coverage.  The fact that you don't do it for that reason doesn't mean it doesn't have that effect.

Yep i started working for my company 25 years ago, mainly because i couldn't afford healthcare for my family, any other way, and 25 years later that's still true . I've had to pass on several opportunities that I may have liked better, because their overall package wasn't as good. (No insurance, no pension, bad 401K program etc) I would love to see all of that separated from my employer so id have true freedom to do what i wanted.

  3. I'm sure i bowl , play golf, slowpitch softball etc., much better when i've been drinking , but i would think drunk division 1 football would be a bad idea. lol

I have no problem with the boys doing some drinking, or even some weed, in their off times but the Cops, and the NCAA do, so the players should too. They are under a microscope. I hope this blows over rather quickly, like the minor issue it is.

  4. I think we have some very expensive problems in this country and the only way to fix them is to tax the people with the means to make a dent in it . Taxing the lower classes will make their situations worse and not begin to touch billion /trillion dollar problems anyway.

Question ? Do you think the corporate overlords,  and mega rich,  in this country are going to allow themselves to be taxed 70% though?

I see them trying to destroy anyone who tries it .

  5. Shultz to me seems like another old white billionaire,  who’s worried about old white billionaire stuff, and has no idea how regular people live . Trump was the same thing and he somehow convinced middle class and poor people that he was “for” them . After 4 years of doing nothing for them, and sometimes things that hurt them,  I don’t think they’ll vote for Trump or another guy like him.

  6. I was just going to say that same thing lol. We have a decent stable of talent at RB and with injuries /guys leaving etc.,  even someone like Bradley might emerge as the guy . We don’t know . Not many were counting on Ameer , Ozigbo, Helu, Rex etc to be as good as they were either, they proved themselves in practice and games . It’s fun to share opinions but it’s far to early to be saying this will happen,  or this won’t,  IMO.

  7. Unfortunately the shutdown is only over for three weeks then trump is going to declare an emergency ( it isn’t at all) and ram the stupid thing through anyway . The only thing he seems to care about is getting his way,  and his idea of winning . It doesn’t matter if the wall is a good idea or not it’s going to get done so he can look powerful , and “get things done”. His supporters will love it .

  8. I'm more confident in the whole team this year than i have been in a long time. I think we have a competent coaching staff, who recruited the right KIND of players, and will develop them into the best players they can be. Improved S&C, and a hard working, team mentality are great to see again too.

RB - I like this group. Decent depth and talent, competition will decide who sees the field the most .

WR/TE - I would like to see a big bodied WR brought in, but otherwise i think were fine here. We have speed guys, possession guys, and tight ends who can catch. Lots of weapons for AM. Another position i think someone were not expecting could emerge as a star.

OL - They were getting better end of last year and i think they've added some good pieces should be fine there . Not a lot of depth though hope everyone stays healthy.

DL -  I really like the older Daniels. Hes a proven talent already, and hopefully an on the field leader. I really wish we had a true pass rushing DE but that will come in time i think.

QB  - AM is great but a running QB always scares me . They get hurt. Vedral knows the system and is serviceable , I think McCaffery will emerge as much better than many people think he will.

DB  - Dont know much about this position. Bootle showed flashes as did Jackson, IDK is a guy like Pola Gates can contribute right away or not.

LB - Barry and Honas will be solid and we brought in some good talent here. I'm pretty confident with that group.

Kade Warner was on the field likely because A. He consistently caught the football and B. He is our best run blocking WR. No block, no rock.

Also, Mcquitty was a RSFr last year no? Give the kid a break..

I really like guys like Warner and Stoll . Block well and catch everything. Hard workers who know the game and do the little things. Get you 5-10 yards when you need it.

If we can get 2 rushers - with the improvement I think we'll have at LB, we will finally have a D that is comparable to the O.  Our D was playing better at the end of the year but we need to have some game changer guys. They don't have to be SUH like but I'll take a L David or 2 or a RUUD like guy:D

i miss "The Bookends". Tomich and Wistrom playing like their hair was on fire. "Meet you at the QB " mentality. Idk if well ever see that again but i hope we do. Man that was fun.

Worst retirement plan there is.....other than none at all.

I don’t agree . There are many people enjoying retirement now, partially made possible by company funded pensions they earned through years of service to a company . If companies would   put even a minimal amount  of effort into keeping the plans funded it would still work,  sadly most companies choose not to do that any more .

  12. I guess when i think of a true running back i think of straight hand off, run between the tackles kind of back. Get 5-10 yards and occasionally pop a long run. I think Mills has more of the body build/running style to be that guy, than Washington. I see Washington and Robinson needing to be out in space more to utilize their speed  and moves. Swing passes , pitch plays, reverses, etc would work well with them. Having all those guys on the field at once plus Martinez would be a nightmare for defenses and fun for us to watch.

  13. Last year we all thought we had the RB situation figured out before the season started, and it changed very quickly. Tre had to retire, Bell left, Ozigbo and Washington rose to the top. I'm glad the staff brought in a few more talented guys, and i'm confident they will find ways to use all those weapons. Someone will separate from the pack and be a true every down running back and i think it will be Mills. Hes already built right, and already has experience against division 1 competition, he should be able to play at a high level right away.
