  1. http://www.ncaa.com/news/ncaa/nine-noon/2011-10-23/college-venues-you-have-check-out

Top nine college venues you have to check out according to the NCAA. #2 is the Nebraska Coliseum.

Nebraska Coliseum in Lincoln, Neb. -- This historic venue was constructed in 1921, and while it once housed multiple Nebraska teams, volleyball has been the lone tenant since 1977. The Cornhuskers have taken advantage of the home-court advantage through the years as they entered the 2011 season riding a streak of 149 consecutive sellouts at the 4,030-seat coliseum.

  2. I saw them at the store across the street from the stadium, the one under the parking lot. But that was over a week ago, and they're probably all gone. They were supposed to have them at Husker Headquarters and Scheel's, too.

I wear a 2XL glove and all they had were XL. Tried them on, and felt like I was going to bust them wide open if I closed my fist. But aside from being too small (for me, anyway), they just weren't as impressive IRL.

The store across from the stadium is Huskers Authentic and they have a few left behind the counter, but no Blackshirts gloves.

  3. I think you have to look at this this way. NU did what was best for NU. Aggie is trying to do what is best for Aggie. It is in Baylor's best interest to keep the Big 12 together. They are doing what is best for Baylor. I don't think Baylor can forever keep this up, but they working in Baylor's self interest. I don't blame them.

I'd rather see Baylor let Aggie go so the rest of the schools can move forward.

I think you're right that everyone is doing what is best for themselves, and you can't blame them for doing it. Texas made the LHN because it's in the best interest of Texas. Baylor is suing because it's in the best interest of Baylor. Texas A&M is leaving because it's in their best interest. The only problem with that is that by thinking for themselves and nobody else, they're not building that community you need to keep a conference together.

This is why the Big 12 will die. Everyone joined it for the wrong reasons. It was all about money and competing and it forgot to bring together schools with like minds.

  4. you guys really think that people are going to come on here and post their sources when in some cases that could get their source in trouble either at their job or within the structure that gives them their free education?

i mean seriously would you rather no one come on here and post what they are hearing? Huskerboard is by far the best site on the internet when it comes to inside info about the skers and most of that comes from "rumors". and for the record, i do push this "rumor" because i have had more than 1 source tell me it is accurate but its nothing major and thats why you wont see this released in the news because it wont be released and no one will ever know for sure except the people on the team. just people trying to give you guys info, thats why you come to a message board, to get info so i dont really see the point in attacking these people. im not surprised by it, i just dont understand it.

If it's not coming out from the team, who are you to give out their secrets? You're the guy telling everyone at the bar that their friends are having marriage trouble or they can't have a baby because your friend is shooting blanks. If you aren't on the team it isn't your secret to tell. You have a major problem in understanding if you can't figure that out.

  5. Not all of the athletes do their work. I remember a few years ago there was an incident where a someone "left" their thumbnail drive in the computer and another person came along and edited their paper, pretty sure it was a football player's, it was someone that was starting but i cant remember who it was but their paper was written like a third grader. I am happy we lead the country in that aspect but i just wonder how many of the student athletes actually earned their grades. I also heard Tom Osborne tried to persuade professors to give certain athletes good grades (this comes from a co workers son who was a professor at UNL for a few years. I do believe there are several professors would be be more lenient when grading an athletes though. I know ill get flamed for this post and im happy Nebraska is the top in academic all americans but i just wonder how many athletes (in every college) actually earn their grade.

What? Why would you get flamed for posting such a solidly-researched story like this? :sarcasm

I'm familiar with the culture among UNL's profs and the general opinion of the football team of said profs. The majority of these people are not fans of the athletic dept and would report any coach who asked for favors for their players, especially Osborne.

I dont know what professor's youre talking about but i knew a lot of professors that loved football, except one..she was also a kansas grad. Im just telling a story i heard, from someone who works at UNL and also i actually saw the thumbnail drive incident take place (yes the football player actually left it there and someone came and edited it). Im not saying all the athletes are like that, I think its moreso the starters/bigname players but this obviously happens everywhere. Like with duke bball, kansas bball, nebraska/osu/texas/nd football etc.

I don't think Nebraska's academic records all happened because everyone cheats.
