Guest Huskerboard
Recruiting Watch, 9/16 Nebraska head coach Bill Callahan prefers his quarterbacks to run out-of-bounds or slide when in danger of being hit hard. So, Callahan might cringe when he hears about the highlight of NU quarterback recruit Harrison Beck's first game of the 2004 season. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound Beck caught a throwback pass from his running back and rambled for a touchdown as Clearwater (Fla.) Countryside defeated Clearwater High 31-7 last weekend. "I ran a few kids over, so that was pretty fun," said Beck, who completed 11 of 14 passes for 180 yards. Beck, who gave Nebraska his oral commitment in June, has watched both of the Huskers' games this season, a win against Division I-AA Western Illinois and a loss to Southern Mississippi. "They've shown flashes of just how good that offense can be," Beck said. "I think each week they're going to get better and sharper. Every once in a while, you'll see Joe (Dailey) bust off a big-time throw. But with that offense, it's going to take time for any quarterback. He'll still be learning things when he's a senior." http://journalstar.com/articles/2004/09/16...6f967918263.txt Quote Link to comment
