Anderson defines oline

Jake Andersen feels that most offensive linemen possess a few defining characteristics.

"Generally, we're not the pretty guys," the Nebraska senior right guard said. "We don't worry about getting the nice clothes and things like that. We just kind of do what we have to do, and we're happy with that."

In many ways, to be an offensive lineman is to be part of a subculture. Perhaps more than any position in football, offensive linemen enjoy having an identity as a group.

"It's because we're the group that has to work together the most," Andersen said. "On the offensive line, if one guys messes up, the whole line has failed because we're not making holes or we're not protecting (the quarterback).

"It's five people working as one. So I think it brings us pretty close."
