Benard
Offensive lineman Richie Incognito, who withdrew from classes at Nebraska on Sept. 14, has enrolled at Oregon and could be cleared to practice within the next seven to 10 days, Ducks head coach Mike Bellotti told reporters Monday. Oregon uses a quarterly academic system, and the new quarter began Monday. Because Incognito can begin classes immediately, he will establish the one-year residency required by the NCAA to play next season. Although Incognito is allowed to practice this season, he's not allowed to play in a game until 2005. He has one season of eligibility remaining. Nebraska head coach Bill Callahan suspended Incognito from the team on Aug. 31 for repeated violations of team rules. In the hours before practice on Aug. 31, Incognito was involved in a locker room scuffle with Husker sophomore receiver Grant Mulkey. A 6-foot-3, 300-pound native of Glendale, Ariz., Incognito struggled to control his temper both on and off the field since arriving at Nebraska in 2001. As part of the stipulations for Incognito to join the Oregon team, Bellotti said, Incognito will be required to pass an anger management class, to be paid for by the Incognito family. I will be rooting for him! Richie Quote Link to comment
