Eric the Red
Player: Averell Spicer Hometown: Rancho Cucamonga, Ca Position: DE Height: 6’2” Weight: 260 40 time: 4.6 Visit Date: 9/3/04 Scholarships offered: over 15 including, Florida State, LSU, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon State, USC, and Michigan Favorites: Florida St., USC, Nebraska Rankings/Stars: Rivals: #1/**** Insiders: #1/***** Assessing the talent: An absolute friggin man child. Someone this big should not be allowed to run this fast. Has 27 sacks in the past two years that does not include his senior season. He has 4 so far through three games. Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 10% I just think it will be too hard to pry him away from his two favorites. Florida State is his childhood favorite and USC is in his backyard. Also this is one of those times where the Huskers having a player visit first and early is going to hurt. He has three other visits set up (F. St., Oklahoma and USC he also plans on visiting a fifth. Too much time between the Huskers visit and the rest??Possibly…The one thing that might lure him is if a couple other players that tripped with him commit and give him a call and push him to Lincoln. Current Status: Committed to USC, 12/13/04 Quote Link to comment
Eric the Red
USC is recruiting him the hardest and Oregon St. will be his 5th visit. Quote Link to comment
Eric the Red
Odds of Nu getting Spicer are diminishing. He is quite high on Florida St. and USC Quote Link to comment
Eric the Red
He will be in Norman this week to see the Huskers and Sooners play. But as a guest of the Sooners. He still holds the Huskers in high regards. IMO he is third on his list behind USC and Florida St. Coach Blake the All American recruitier calls him quite a bit along with Bill Bucsh. OKHUSKER
Committed to USC over the weekend. Never thought we had a chance with this kid Quote Link to comment
Eric the Red
Damn it. He was going to be a tough one as you said OKHusker. But on the bright side at least we got this kid in for a visit. I actually thought he was going to FSU, but distance played a major role for him. USC is in his backyard. Hopefully we could snag Henderson. Quote Link to comment
