RaisedHusker
Prior to this coach: 2 top ten finishes in the history of Nebraska football No Big 8 championships in 21 years Bowl bids in 1941 and 1955, both lost It was said by a new Nebraska Great Coach: "I don't expect to win enough games to be put on N.C.A.A. probation. I just want to win enough to warrant an investigation." This person went on to turn around a hapless Nebraska football team who had 3 winning seasons since 1940. In his first year, he went 9-2 and won the Gotham Bowl over George Mira of the Miami Hurricanes. He won 28 of his first 33 games. After going 6-4 in 1967 and 1968, he hired a offensive genius who changed the face of College football offenses. Now that is a fiery coach we need!! The next coming of Bob Devaney!! I am sure Bob is rolling in his grave in regards to Husker football. Quote Link to comment
