Charting Pelini's next few days

Bo Pelini likely will return to Lincoln either Wednesday or Thursday, his brother Carl said Tuesday.

 

"He's hoping to get back (in Lincoln) Wednesday afternoon or night," Carl said. "If not, he'll be back early Thursday."

 

Some key dates:

 

-- Pelini is scheduled to be on hand Thursday night at the Outland Trophy banquet at the Doubletree Hotel in downtown Omaha. The winner of the award is Louisiana State senior defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey.

 

-- Pelini and his nine assistant coaches will be introduced at the start of halftime of Saturday night's Kansas-Nebraska basketball game at the Devaney Sports Center. Tip-off is 8 p.m. and ESPN will televise the game nationally.

 

-- Nebraska is set to play host to between eight and 13 prospects making official campus recruiting visits this weekend.

 

-- Coaches can return to the road recruiting on Sunday.

 

-- Classes at NU resume Monday following the semester break. Pelini is expected to hold a team meeting sometime right before or after the start of classes to address winter conditioning. "The new strength coach will have to get things up in running (for winter conditioning)," Carl Pelini said. He said he wasn't sure if Bo had hired a strength coach. "He flew a bunch of guys into Louisiana," Carl said.

 

-- Feb. 6 is the national letter-of-intent signing date.
