CHEESY WONTONS WITH SWEET & SOUR DIP

 

12 ounces (3 to 4 cups) Jalapeño Jack cheese, cut into 3/4" cubes

24 square wonton wrappers

3-4 cups canola oil

1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened

1/3 cup bottled sweet-sour sauce

 

Place 1 cube of cheese in middle of wonton wrapper. Fold in half to form a triangle, sealing edges with water. Fold remaining 2 edges together and seal. Repeat with remaining cheese and wrappers.

Heat oil in deep skillet to 375°F.

Fry wontons 6 to 8 at a time until golden brown, about 4 minutes. Drain on paper towel.

For dip, combine cream cheese and sweet-sour sauce in small bowl until smooth. Serve wontons with sauce for dipping.

 

Bean's Crockpot Chicken Soup

 

7 c. water

6 chicken bouillon cubes

3 or 4 boneless/skinless chicken breasts

3/4 c. celery, chopped

3/4 c. onion, chopped

3/4 c. carrots, cubed

1 T. parsley

salt & pepper to taste

1 c. potato, cubed

* Zesty Garlic Pasta Secrets (1/2 bag) - found in the freezer section

 

Place all in crockpot (on low), except potato & Pasta Secrets. After chicken is done, cut into bite size pieces, add back to the crockpot with Pasta Secrets & cook until potato is done.

 

* If you don't want to use Pasta Secrets, add small noodles of your choice.

 

Barbeque Sauce

Ingredients:

 

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 cup onion, minced

2 tsp butter

2 tsp. vegetable oil

1 cup brown sugar

2 tsp. worcestershire sauce

1 tsp. prepared mustard

2 cups catsup

1 cup water

2 tsp. vinegar

2 tsp. A-1 Steak Sauce

1/2 tsp. salt

 

Directions: In a saucepan, sauté garlic and onion in butter and oil until soft; do not brown. Add remaining ingredients and simmer over low heat for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

 

For thicker or thinner sauce, adjust water accordingly.

 

 

Apple Cake Pudding:

 

Ingredients:

 

3/4 cup sugar

1/4 cup butter

1 egg

1 cup flour

1 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp nutmeg

1/4 tsp coriander

4 cups apples, chopped

1 tsp vanilla

cream (optional)

 

Directions:

 

Cream together sugar, butter and egg. Add the flour, soda cinnamon, nutmeg and coriander, blend into creamed mixture. Add remaining ingredients and stir into a 1 1/2-quart casserole dish, bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Drizzle each serving with cream if desired.
