I haven't made the Melt In Your Mouth Crockpot Roast....so make at your own risk:) and make some sandwiches out of it...These recipes can easily be made before the game starts.

Melt In Your Mouth Crockpot Roast:

This crock pot roast is so tender, you don't need a knife...the alcohol cooks out. I heard this is a good recipe..haven't made it though.

2 - 3 LBS. chuck, arm or any roast

1 can/bottle of beer*

1 Pkg. Lipton Herb & Garlic soup mix or any flavor that sounds good, but the herb flavors have a more unique flavor.

Place roast in bottom of crock pot, sprinkle soup mix and pour Room Temp beer over. Cover and cook on low 8+ hours.

Serve with gravy, thicken if you like. Makes excellent sandwiches the next day.

I have made these Pork Sandwiches ane they are EXCELLENT:)

Pork Sandwiches:

The day before the football game..buy a pork roast and cook it in your crockpot all day on low with a little water, some cut up onions and minced garlic. I sprinkle some Paula Deen's House Seasoning over it..or season it with some garlic salt and ground black pepper. When it is done...shred the pork roast up with 2 forks and refrigerate it. The morning of the football game...

Mix together in a bowl:

1 cup ketchup

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup water

2 T. vinegar

Minced onion

1 T. mustard

1 T. Worcestershire Sauce

Add the shredded pork and the above mixture in your crockpot; stir till all is thouroughly blended. Cook on low at least for 2-3 hours. The longer it cooks..the better it is. Serve on hamburger buns.

**Eyeball the sauce..if you have a large pork roast..double the sauce ingredients.

Serve with frozen french fries, tator tots, or chips, etc.

Taco Pie:

Ingredients:

1- 1/2 lbs. ground beef

1/3 cup onions chopped

1/2 cup water

1 1-1/4 oz. pkg. taco seasoning mix

1 8-ounce can refrigerated crescent dinner rolls

2 cups tortilla chips crushed

1 cup sour cream

4 oz.s Cheddar Cheese shredded (about 1 cup)

1/2 cup taco sauce.

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375°. Place baking sheet on middle shelf of oven.

Crumble beef into a large skillet. Add onion and saute over medium heat until meat is no longer pink. Remove any excess fat. Stir in water and taco seasoning mix. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 5 minutes.

Meanwhile, arrange crescent roll triangles in bottom and up sides of a 9-inch pie plate, pinching edges of triangles together to form a crust. Sprinkle with 1 cup of the crushed chips. Spread hot meat mixture evenly in crust. Spoon on sour cream, then sprinkle with cheese. Top with remaining chips.

Bake on preheated baking sheet for 25 minutes or until edge of crust is browned and cheese melted.

To serve, cut into wedges and top with sauce.

Salad:

Snicker Salad:

3 Granny Smith appples, diced (do not peel)

1 pkg. French Vanilla Instant Pudding

1 cup milk

3 Snicker Bars, cut in bite-size pieces

1-(8-oz.) carton Cool Whip

Mix pudding and milk. Add Snicker Bars, Cool Whip & Apples...mix thoroughtly and refrigerate.

Lemon Bars:

1 package lemon cake mix

1/3 cup butter or margarine -- softened

3 eggs

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons grated lemon zest

1/4 cup lemon juice

Powdered sugar -- if desired

Heat oven to 350º. Mix cake mix (dry), butter and 1 of the eggs with spoon until crumbly; reserve 1 cup. Press remaining crumbly mixture lightly in bottom of ungreased rectangular pan, 13 H 9 H 2 inches. Bake about 10 minutes or until light brown.

Beat remaining 2 eggs, the granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, lemon peel and lemon juice with hand beater until light and foamy. Pour over hot baked layer. Sprinkle with reserved crumbly mixture.

Bake about 15 minutes or until light brown and set. Sprinkle with powdered sugar; cool. Cut into 6 rows by 5 rows.
