The Huskers also climbed to from 21st to 16th in the Sports Weekly/ESPN Coaches poll and from 23rd to 20th in Baseball America. Quote Link to comment

Eric the Red Posted March 23, 2005 Author Share Posted March 23, 2005 NU baseball team climbs to ninth in national polls; Gordon earns honor LINCOLN Alex Gordon earned another honor, while the Nebraska baseball team continues to climb in the national polls released Monday afternoon. The Huskers, who are 18-2 on the season and riding a 10-game winning streak, jumped from 21st to ninth in Collegiate Baseball while moving up from No. 23 to No. 20 in Baseball America's weekly poll. Gordon was also honored, as he was chosen as one of Collegiate Baseball's National Players of the Week. The junior hit .560 (14-for-25) in five games with four homers, 10 RBIs and 11 runs scored in leading the Huskers to a perfect 6-0 record . Quote Link to comment

Eric the Red Posted March 24, 2005 Author Share Posted March 24, 2005 Fusilier’s Blast Lifts No. 9 Huskers to 6-3 Win Lincoln – Brandon Fusilier’s (Coppell, Texas) three-run homer in the bottom of the seventh broke a 3-all tie, as ninth-ranked Nebraska downed Western Illinois, 6-3, Wednesday afternoon at Hawks Field. Fusilier’s homer, his team-high eighth of the season, proved to be the decisive blow, as the Huskers improved to 19-2 on the season with their 11th straight win heading into Friday’s Big 12 opener at Kansas.
