Confused..

Alright so i am new here and I know i am going to sound stupid but i do i set up an avatar and a sig?

Toward the upper right of each page is a link entitled My Controls. Click that link.

 

On the left hand side of the page that appears are a number of links. One of the links is entitled Edit Signature. Click it. In the center of the page will be a field that will look like the field you see when you type in a reply to a topic. You can enter what you want in it for your signature, and even use the formatting options to make it appear as you want. Above it is a "preview pane" that shows how it looks - but if I recall correctly, it does not update in real time. Instead, you have to enter the signature and format it, and then click the "Update My Signature" button at the bottom of the page.

 

For your avatar, again look at the left hand side of the page. Find and click the link entitled Edit Avatar Settings. You can either upload a picture that you have on your hard drive (see the bottom option on the page) or enter a link to a picture on another web site. Please note the size restrictions. Also, if you link to another web site, please be sure that you have permission from the site to do so - linking like that actually costs the ower of the site with the picture on bandwidth, and it's considered less than good manners to simply link without permission.

this was very helpful, but how do i get a picture in as my sig? i see the insert image, but all that does is leave a link to that picture?
