Pelinis make their return to team

 

Husker head coach Bo Pelini and defensive coordinator Carl Pelini were back on the practice field on Sunday -- same intensity as always, according to players.

 

"It was a little weird yesterday not having Bo, not hearing him yelling at people and getting after guys," Husker senior wide receiver Todd Peterson said. "It's just not quite the same when your leader, the guy you've been following all year, is not there."

 

The Pelinis went to Ohio on Friday to attend their father's Rosary and joined the team in Florida on Saturday night.

 

"Before he had to go home, he just told us to take care of business," Peterson said. "It was going to be business as usual even though he wasn't going to be around. And he was back he just had the same demeanor."

 

Pelini was brief when talking about his trip home.

 

"It was hard to leave the family and everything but we were able to take care of business back home and pay our respects," he said. "It was nice to be with family for a couple days and now it’s time to get back to work."
