Roxy Posted February 4, 2009 Share Posted February 4, 2009 Chicken in a Pot: 2 carrots, sliced 2 onions, sliced 2 celery stalks with leaves, cut in 1-inch pieces 1- (3 lb.) whole chicken 2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. coarse black pepper 1/2 c. water, chicken broth, or white wine 1/2 to 1 tsp. basil I would add garlic Put carrots, onions, and celery in bottom of crock pot. Add whole chicken. Top with salt, pepper and liquid. Sprinkle with basil over top. *** I would omit the basil and sprinkle Emerils's Seasoning or Paula Deen's House Seasoing over it. Cover and cook on low 8-10 hours (high: 3 1/2 to 5 hours), using 1 cup water. Remove chicken and vegetables with spatula. Quote Link to comment
