huskerswrkhavoc Posted May 18, 2009 Share Posted May 18, 2009 The Huskers completed the sweep yesterday following a huge performance from Senior Jake Mort and the 3rd consecutive great outing by Senior Erik Bird. Finally good to see these guys put an entire series together.. They pitched well, hit well, and, for some of you who tend to think he's terrible, executed a couple of great calls by Coach A to put pressure on the bears... It's great to see these guys go out as winners and especially for Mort and Bird to have the days they had on Sunday (3-5, 2 HR's, 5 rbi and CG 3 earned, 7ks 1 BB).. It's a good way to end the season and go off into offseason work outs with at least a little bit of confidence and proof that they know how to win. And since no one said anything about it before, Mike Nesseth threw 7 innings on friday giving up four runs, walking 4 striking out 8, and Freshman Sean Yost threw a complete game 6 hit shut out on Saturday, walking only 2 and striking out 6.
