Roxy Posted August 31, 2009 Share Posted August 31, 2009 Tamale Pie: Your favorite cornbread recipe( Mix together and set aside) 1 1/2 - 2 lbs ground round 1 onion, chopped 1 clove garlic, minced 1 can corn, drained 1 can diced tomatoes 1 can Rotel tomatoes 1/2 - 1 cup sliced black olives (optional) 2-3 TBS Gebhardt Chili powder Salt & Pepper 1 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper *2 cups shredded cheese of your choice In an ovenproof Dutch oven, brown meat onion & spices. Add remaining ingredients reserving *cheese* for later. and simmer on the stove about 20-30 minutes. Top with the prepared cornbread mixture and bake in a pre-heated 350 degree oven until cornbread is done...usually about 30 minutes more or less...Top with the reserved cheese.
