Nexus Posted March 8, 2010 Share Posted March 8, 2010 Lincoln - This past weekend the USTFCCCA released its men’s and women’s all-academic teams, with both Husker programs be named. The Husker women were one of a record 176 teams to receive the honor, bettering last season’s record of 160. The men also set a record with 135 teams selected, which was an improvement over the 110 teams picked last season. The Husker women, who finished fourth at the NCAA Midwest Regional, produced a team GPA of 3.68 to post the eight-best GPA among the 176 teams honored. On the men’s side, the Huskers combined for a 3.43 GPA, which tied them for 19th on the list with Weber State and Utah State. The Husker men also held the top mark among the seven Big 12 Conference programs that earned all-academic team honors. For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award, they must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Championship and also have a minimum 3.00 team cumulative GPA.
