Nexus
I miss Johnny Carson. Lots of memories watching his show as a child. Not only was he a Hollywood Icon, but a Nebraska Icon as well. This clip is from 1993 when Carson was honored by President Clinton during the annual Kennedy Center Honors. Pay attention to 0:56 mark. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K09Ac-dbrW8 Quote Link to comment
np_husker
I've seen this clip many times and never tire of it. Very cool, just like Johnny. Quote Link to comment

bshirt
He was simply great. No late TV show ever did replace him. Quote Link to comment
huKSer
As a joke, I always wanted to go to his show in the audience. Pass a note to him saying my mother knew him from the "rolling plains of Nebraska" If they brought a mic up the audience the conversation might be: JC: "So, what's your name" Me: "Bud" JC: "Your mom knew me from Norfolk?" Me: "Yes, when you were in high school, she was younger than you" JC: "Oh, what was her name?" Me: "Gina Statutoria. My name is Bud Carson. . . . dad." One of his legendary mythical characters he told stories about when he was young was the under-aged Gina Statutoria I ended up living a block away from his childhood Norfolk house on 10th.
