Average Joe Sports Luncheon

Recommended Posts

The Lincoln Sports Alliance is excited to announce that Doug Novsek, UNL Men’s Basketball Assistant Coach, will headline the Average Joe Sports Lunch in October. Bill Doleman, Program Director, for KLMS and the host of The Average Joe Sports Show on ESPN Radio, will emcee the event, which will take place at the Villager Courtyard and Gardens Hotel, 5200 O Street, on October 17th at Noon. The lunch is part of a new series called the Average Joe Luncheon Series, which features a guest speaker and monthly sports updates. Lunches are the third Monday of every month at noon.

Doug Novsek returns for his third season as the Men’s Basketball Assistant Coach. He joined the Nebraska coaching staff in May 2002 and now assists with daily workouts, on-court coaching during practices and games, as well as recruiting on and off campus.

After more than a decade as an assistant coach, Novsek holds a wealth of knowledge to provide the Huskers. Regarded as a top-notch recruiter, Novsek was the recruiting coordinator at each of his three previous coaching stops and continues to play a key role in recruiting at Nebraska. Novsek has had two recruiting classes rank among the national top 35, including one each at Southwest Texas and Indiana State.

Josh Barker, Sales Development Manager for the Lincoln Convention and Visitors Bureau, said, “We are excited Coach Novsek will come and speak with us at the Average Joe Sports Luncheon. With his recruiting abilities and keen eye for talent, I think he’ll give us an early heads up on who to watch in the Husker men’s upcoming basketball season.”
