Red Snow Sword: Husker Sentinel
Don't know who's it is, and i'm in haste, so I'm looking at the posters in all the forums. SOmeone has/had a really cool quote, listing all the things a human being should be able to do, and then, at the end, says speicalization is for insects. Anyone know whos, or can post the quote here? Many thanks Quote Link to comment
AR Husker Fan
I believe the quote you are looking for is from Robert A. Heinlein's novel "Time Enough for Love", in which the main character, Lazarus Long, states: "A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects." For those not familiar with the book, don't be fooled by the title. An excellent, entertaining bit of science fiction. Quote Link to comment

rawhide
I think Heinlein was the only scifi writer to keep up with Asimov. prolifically speaking. Quote Link to comment

Hmmmm...I think Clarke probably has been more prolific than Heinlein, when you look at everything. But Clarke also stated that he had given up on his goal of having more published material than Asimov. Quote Link to comment
