For real? I've never tried their coffee because it just seemed like it would be gas-station garbage. Am I missing out?

You seem to have higher standards than me, so probably not. It's definitely better than something like Starbucks, and is one of the better K-cups I have, but I doubt it's anything spectacular to well-traveled coffee drinkers.
