carlfense
After two decades of legal and political wrangling, a federal judge Thursday ordered the cross atop Mt. Soledad removed within 90 days as a violation of the separation of church and state. But U.S. District Judge Larry Burns stayed the removal order so that those defending the cross have time to appeal. http://www.latimes.c...y#ixzz2nOHKDJvr Link to comment
Conga3
There is a tiny park in Tampa that belongs to another freaking country entirely - CUBA. (not even a country we have diplomatic relations with) Well, if the issue arises because the government owns and operates land that has religious symbols on it - isn't it easier if the government just sold the land to a private organization? While the conservative in me says tradition and history needs to be preserved and protected for posterity, the pragmatist says pick your battles - just sell off the land the religious symbols are on and the argument the government is "endorsing" a religion is put to rest. 1 Link to comment
