Adidas sponsored a Recruits Unlimited mini camp at Memorial Stadium in early May. Former Husker Mike Minter founded Recruits Unlimited in response to his own experience as a high school player. Coach Callahan has employed the personal touch in the recruiting of Ryan Perriloux of Reserve, LA. The tourney benefited Camp CoHoLo, a children's cancer camp near Gretna. Grant will be playing for Seattle next season after receiving a $14 million signing bonus. He appeared in the recent list of Sports Illustrated's 50 Fortunate. He's number 37 on the list, between golfer Phil Mickelson and Yankee pitcher Kevin Brown.

The first step in the new Athletic Complex and stadium expansion is taking place with the destruction of the 58 year old Schulte Field House. The field house has been the home to incoming Husker Freshmen and opposing team locker rooms for many years. It also housed modest indoor astro turf practice fields used by the football team and baseball team.

Coach Callahan will continue the tradition of the Nebraska Football summer camps for high schoolers. For the first time 9th graders may also attend. Coach Callahan recognizes the camps as "the no. 1 recruiting tool." 10 of 18 players receiving 2004 scholarships attended the previous summer camp. Coach Callahan will expand the football camp to include an elite quarterback academy and a kicking academy.
