I do, but what I am saying is that when you generate 220mil/year in revenue, there is money somewhere.

I will say basketball and volleyball are killing it right now so maybe they spread it around more?

There is money somewhere but that doesn't mean it can be spent on NIL.

You're concerned about our NIL spending on football but suggest we should spend less on football. Interesting.
 
I’m trying to read through the myriad of back and forth on this subject. I guess why I am not all that happy is we messaged that our HS recruiting class would be small because we had money for the portal. To most fans that means we are playing at the big stakes table. Have we done this, I would say no. Have we added some good pieces? Yes. But we need to take a big step forward to get to where we want to go. Instead we are just doing some things here and there. My guess is we had limited funds and OL was the place we went in on. If that’s the case, I’d probably do the same. OL new sheriff replaces a terrible prior sheriff so I can see that position group making the most improvement.

I’m just really tired that we act like we have all this money and can get in the top 15 in spending and we are nowhere close. It raises unnecessary false hope. Need to develop and win first is the bottomline to attract more dollars.

we bought a lot of d-line, a starting qb, a star lb and some other lb's to compete, a safety, a long snapper, and a depth qb. that is a bit more than just a new o-line.

And practically all 3* guys. 247 has Black rated 4* as a transfer (but not On3), and On3 has Chamblis rated 4* (but not 247). And that's literally it. Some modest upgrades, and a few areas of need addressed, but if you think this portal group is gonna move the needle much you're kidding yourself.

At this point, it's safe to say we didn't go get the best players in the country.

I liken Rhule's moves to what Derek Carr said about Oakland taking Mendoza 1st round and said not too. He said that was not a dis on Mendoza, but wouldn't want the rookie QB coming to a team that needs to so much.

Sounds familiar to NU. Rhule might not like it, but what he's doing is a reset. New DC, DL coaches, multiple DB coaches, new OL coach etc....

Rhule is trying to buy the OL, DL, LB room etc...Got a great fit QB for what we will "allegedly" run next year. Team is lacking in a lot of areas. I think we are getting there, but we are "not close".....Spent enough to get guys to fill holes. Show legit improvement and our money will have a better chance to lure more "dudes".

what about the juco? i saw somewhere that he would be ranked a 4* transfer

and we got a lot of starters. i would say we have improved.
