2025-2026 Portal Updates

I have clearly triggered you. Please accept my apology.
Not triggered. I thought maybe you knew something that nobody else in this forum did based on your post claiming to know how much we spent and how much more we didn’t spend. Turns out you’re in the same boat as the rest of us. No effing idea, just assumptions.

Nobody wants to admit it but we don’t have aTm/Indiana type money available. Maybe we could do a mass postcard plea to uncle Warren?

so if we go into the spring practice and game...if we lose someone key to injury or discover that someone isn't as good as we thought...we can still hit the portal if need be. but the pickings might be slim then
Yes, those that are still in the portal are still available at that time. There isn't really any cutoff to signing.

so the portal closes tonight. that means no one else can enter the portal but is there a date they have to sign by?

Portal closes tonight. But they just have to have their request submitted tonight. It might take the school a day or two to get them entered. Plus Indiana and Miami guys next week, as @SouthLincoln Husker noted.

They can sign whenever. Though the enrollment deadline for this semester is fast approaching for most schools.

If really knew crap they probably wouldn’t be on here

its not as great as it sounds. Disappointing two women at the same time is worse than one.

Brutal, somewhat hurtful, but honest. We are with Rhule until this plane rights itself or we crash. If we dide we die......
I follow the team and want them to be better. But money doesn't always buy better. I'd rather have a whole team of nasty scrappy 3* reject players at this point than chasing a couple of high dollar 5* prima donnas and an over priced coach.

I'm done with the argument money wins championships. It wins a few here and there but doesn't about as often.

IU may win a championship with James Madison and Indiana players and a portal player or two. JMU played in the CFP without Cignetti and would have probably beat Nebraska this year.

It's won most every championship for the past 25 years but you do you.
Enough money helps the chances to win. But not necessarily spending the most money.

It's easy to waste money on players in this NIL environment. The number one QB could go down in week one and leave you with a $3.5 million hole and a juco transfer backup if you chased a 5* versus a 3-4* averaged QB room.

I'd lean on paying a squad of 3-4* players across the board for depth and make them compete.
