So I know I will end up taking the huskers but man that’s a lot of points, especially for a team that doesn’t seem to make a lot of big plays recently

It must be because those Big Ten D's are all soooooo good and stuff.

It has been a bit boring so far. I am guessing we put up 40 and 50 the next two weeks and that will skew the average a little.

Yeah. Akron is really bad. 42% comp, 3-15 on third downs, 3.2 yrd/rush. But their punter averaged 48.3 yrd/punt. And it was a home game for them.

Probably should be more concerned with Houston Christian who won their opener 69-0.

Arkansas Baptist is a NAIA school. UNK would thump them.

Actually there a christian community college and are on the same level as NJCAA, my juco played them twice when I was their SID.

I hard recently bought my badass house and had some dudes and dudettes over to watch that game. I think it was 11am?

The game ended and we all went out to a dive bar and continued to drink and then hit up a few more bars to drink and then back to my house to party some more.

Those were good times.

This is a game that Nebraska 1) must take seriously because every game matters and we have no room to be arrogant considering the past 7 or so years, 2) one we need to win handily, at least by 28. I'd much rather see the team open the playbook a bit to show some dominance than stay reserved to try to preserve plays and win by like 14 or something. Crushing (with all respect to Akron) clearly inferior opponents is what good programs do, and not doing that allows doubts to creep in.

Before anyone accuses me of pessimism, I think they do cruise, I am just noting that these games are important in their own way.

The bolded part is VERY important for the teams psyche. They NEED to be dominant, just to prove to themselves that they can.

Exactly. Beating the hell out of Akron won't say much to the rest of college football, but it'll say a ton to the players, and that's gigantic.

Ill get banned for this BUT ill say it. I know hes only starting his 2nd game in his 2nd season. But DR is a bit overrated as of now.

We wont score 40+ dinkin and dunking and no home run pass's. No wr's is not an excuse anymore. We have those.

DR needs to be DR not Patrick.
