Anyone else annoyed?

Here is how some Zona fans left their tailgate.

I've seen hog barns cleaner than this.

I'd call that wishful thinking, but alright.
I'm just calling it the way I saw it. They weren't prepared for us to put up 30+ points.

The Arizona players were getting frustrated with themselves with their inability to move the ball. All I have to do is point to their big mouth center Baxter. He said they were going to punch our defense (Suh) in the mouth, instead he got a foot in his a$$ for his trouble.
It takes more than a shaky first quarter to demoralize (for the entire game, no less) an 8 win team that nearly beat Oregon. If anything, that is doing Arizona a disservice.

Did that affect them? Sure. But it does not explain the ridiculous defensive stats we put up on them right up until their last drive. If you think it does, then we might as well just end the conversation here.

I think we've pretty much beat this dead horse, but I will leave you with the quotes of Stoops and some members of the Arizona football team after the game.

If this doesn't describe shell shocked and demoralized, then I don't know what does.

azstarnet.comThe Wildcats weren't ready for the spotlight, after all.

"This game is very humbling in a lot of ways," coach Mike Stoops said. "When you think you've arrived, that's when you're going to get whacked. We got whacked tonight. It's that simple. Don't overcomplicate it.

"You can't ever forget how you got here. Sometimes, that can happen."

Senior safety Cam Nelson said some Wildcats "got caught up in the hoo-rah" before the game, trash-talking with Nebraska's players only to be embarrassed on the field.

"We've never done that before. I don't know if it's because we were overexcited or playing in a bigger bowl game … we got caught up with talking, but not playing the game.

"The game is played, not talked."
The UA's offense was tentative and prone to panic against the Huskers' "Blackshirts." Its defense, a strength throughout a roller-coaster season, caved against a Nebraska attack that gained just five first downs in the Big 12 championship game against Texas. The Huskers dominated on special teams, too, benefiting from a bowl-record four field goals by Alex Henery.
"Offense, defense and special teams never really engaged in the game in any way," Stoops said. "That starts with me and our preparation, nothing was right all night.

"The game's over before it starts. That's where we lost this game. It's my fault."
"It sucked," Grigsby said. "It was exciting for a minute, when we started the game off. But as the game went on, it went downhill."

Uh, no. Reading comprehension ftl, apparently.
Actually, he's spot on. You seem to not be saying what you intend to say (writing comprehension ftl?) or you're just really bad at conveying a point. I just read this thread and I got the same thing out of what you're writing. If that's not the message you intended to convey, you may want to try again.

Credit needs to be given to Nebraska and I think you'd be hard pressed to argue Arizona ever had much of a chance after watching that game (even if they had played their best). However, if Arizona fans want to say they would not have been dominated so totally if their team had actually showed up, I have no issues with it. It's probably true.
Uh, if that doesn't convey that exact message I mentioned, then you all need to lay off the drinks.

Btw, you often have trouble with this kind of thing. No offense intended, you just do.

Except for the fact that you're the only person who feels that way, and the fact that people completely unrelated to me point out that you don't say what you mean as well... aside from that I completely agree.

Then please go on and explain to me how what I quoted does not say what I am claiming it says.

This has probably been said in other threads, but in reading articles by their columnists and also reading comments they don't really give our team any credit for completely dominating them, but instead blame it on them not being ready to play. There are a few exceptions out there, but... Here's one example.

The Big 12 is by no means an impressive conference this year, but we are 2-0 vs. the Pac 10 already as is the MWC. By my math they're now 2-4 thus far, so maybe they could just admit that their conference isn't great.

I think I remember Mr Pelini as being give a HC job, not a coordinator position at NU in 2003 and he stayed with LSU and helped them win a NC. So the argument that part of their demise being Stoops going to FSU is seriously flawed.

I agree, stand up and admit you got your butts kicked. It happens. I haven't watched all the bowl games but I think ours was the most dominated so far this bowl season. Not too many shutouts and one-sided games.

It was a beauty to watch from our side. Bo's says were are playing better than any team in the country.

That is a great feeling.

Why don't we get back to the thread and the topic at hand?

Bottom line is this, we beat Arizona and they never had a chance in that game. If you're on Arizona's side you're going to say you were unprepared. If you're on NU's side then we stomped them.

EbylHusker,

I feel your pain. I am getting hammered in another thread because I spelled Pelini as Polini. I didn't take your comments the wrong way. Your handle has Husker in it. They only negative I saw all night was a few slips by one of our WR's and a couple incomplete passes by our backup QB, everything else pointed to a complete beat down of Epic proportions!!!
